DC vs Stipe both in their prime

These hypotheticals trying to undo reality are pathetic.

we know DC lost the trilogy when he was in the absolute tail end of his career

but what if it's the DC we saw in strikeforce vs Stipe couple years ago

who has a better chance of winning
Maybe if DC ever lost weight. Olympic athlete or not, he still has to carry that pot belly as a middle aged man. I'm kind of a casual, does DC have excellent cardio? Does he have a fight with a fellow wrestler or grappler I could check out? Im a Slav so I'm biased towards Stipe.

Edit: Some of his moments in the Francis Fight and beating an Olympic wrestler, twice, kinda turned me to a fanboy to

Edit 2: Actually yeah, maybe if he did lose the belly. Check the 2nd fight where that was precisely why DC lost. Being too fat.

Stipe was in his prime in the revenge ! Better than ever ! DC was in his prime too ( hands speed, durability, punch harder than ever, more skilled than ever )

Both were at their prime in the second fight

Maybe prime DC would be beetween 2014 and 2016 if he was at HW.... Because HW DC at UFC beat HW DC in Strikeforce !

You're saying DC was in his prime and durability at it's best in his second to last fight ever at 40 years old?? That's crazy talk

Yes he was :

DC was heavier than in Strikeforce !

Punch harder than in Strikeforce ( low kick, uppercut, right hand )

He took punch better than in Strikeforce ( you can saw he was in trouble with little punch in round 1 vs Barnett or vs Frank Mir, and was afraid of punch vs Bigfoot )

In Strikeforce he was faster, more explosive and better wrestling ( his olympic days was closer )

Age isn't automaticaly you are out of prime... he hadn't 70 or 80 years old ! You can't tell he his out of prime because he is 35 years old or 40 years old ! Now with good physical preparation, nutrition and therapy, you can be in your prime later, especially at HW !

Prime DC beats Prime Stipe. I like Stipe, don't get me wrong, but skill-wise, he's very one-dimensional. He's a good boxer, great conditioning, and strong TDD. Basically, he's just a better version of Tim Sylvia. The one thing about Stipe that does stand out is that he's good at showing up in shape and sticking to a game plan.

Prime DC, on the other hand, was a very special fighter. He could throw Josh Barnett through the air, and he could KO Prime Bigfoot Silva. That version of DC may have been the best heavyweight ever.

DC was beating the shit out of Stipe "Homer Simpson Defense" Mediocreocic, until he literally aged in front of our eyes.

In their primes, DC easy, every time.
Dc got out boxed and finished.stipe wins

Stipe never beat an elite HW that was in their prime when Stipe fought them.

So I'm going to go with the elite HW in their prime over Stipe any day.

They’re both at the ‘tail end of their career’. Stipe is just a better fighter.

Talking primes is like talking P4P, superheroes, unicorns, fairy dust... let it go.

Why not talk about something that’s actually visible and tangible and directly affected the final result of the right? Without controversial fouls there may have only been one fight with stipe being 1-0. Those eye pokes were massive in the first fight.

If weren't about hypotheticals. No spiking was huge. DC would have killed him

I rank Stipe higher than DC as an all time HW. But in hypothetical land I think SF era DC beats him. Of course it's all mental masturbation and Stipe is the best UFC HW of all time in terms of accomplishments.

In the third fight DC was washed. In the second he was winning and then got too comfortable, just like against Bones

Cormier was winning because he was fighting for a 2 round win. When the KO or submission didn't happen, he ran out of steam, the superiority of Jones and Miocic prevailed and he got KTFO'd both times. When Cormier paces himself for a 5rd championship fight, he loses that way too, as is evidenced by his record against them.
