Stipe doesn’t get enough respect for his wrestling and top game. Cormeir’s wrestling backfired in the 2nd and third fight, as he tired out faster and Stipe out wrestled him. DC will have success wrestling/clinching in short spurts early, but like you said, Stipe is awesome at getting back to his feet. Cormeirs speed and dirty boxing out of the clinch would still be Cormeirs biggest strength. But I think unless Cormeir puts him away early, not much would change if they were 10 years younger with the same experience.

DC won the championship one fight before their trilogy finale, he was still an excellent fighter. Not sure when Stipe's prime was, I would say it's right now. I guess I would give DC the edge if he was 5-6 years younger though.

Yeah nothing in their 3 fights proved it would be easy for either guy. Even in the first fight, It was pretty competitive until DC landed the big shot that put Stipe down. And Stipe had to come from behind to finish DC. It’s honestly probably a toss up like many heavyweight fights.
