It makes you believe in propaganda campaigns or something. George St. Pierre was an opportunistic coward ducking T-Wood, Lawler, and whoever else when he went up to challenge Bisping for the MW belt....but DC has a HUGE pair because he is moving up to take on a HW champion that he and Dana obviously believe he can beat. Oh and even though GSP never fought at MW -- DC fought for years at HW! Fight fans really fall for the imagery given to them on the interwebs, I guess. EDIT -- I forgot to add that Dana openly said that DC can vacate the belt if he wins.
 
Nobody believed Bisping was the champ. He spent over a year iirc as champ without fighting anyone inside the top 10.

Miocic has slayed most of the top 10 in his division in impressive fashion.
 
They're both opportunists.

Same goes for Anderson "moving up" to fight a pillow handed mid-tier ex-champion.

GSP has form for caution and you're not really equating Bisping's reign with Stipe's?
 
i think its funny, that anyone sitting behind a keyboard can call a man who gets in the cage to compete a coward. lol

You can't really call someone a coward for not wanting to fight up a weight class. Otherwise just about every fighter is and that sounds silly. GSP is a certainly an opportunist though, it was very clear he planned this whole thing out and was only willing to fight Bisping for that belt, but it is what it is.

DC definitely isn't moving up to fight a Bisping though.

Lot's of Sherdoggers think they could do what GSP or DC have done. After all, how hard could it be to take down guys in the UFC? That of course means they think GSP and DC are overrated. I note however that none of those detractors manage to find the time to get into the cage and see if they could duplicate GSP's or DC's success.
 
Stipe is the best at HW right now (6 fight winning streak with impressive KO's), and DC wants to fight HIM!

Bisping wasn't even considered a top 3 MW when he was champ (you could argue he wasn't even top 5), and his only title defence was against 100 year old Hendo. Literally everyone wanted to fight him.

It's not rocket science why one is admired and the other one looked down upon. Also, GSP immediately vacated the belt and ran from the division.
 
GSP absolutely did seek the easier bout and he was never going to fight the real monsters at 185, regardless of what his contract said. Even Bisping said so before the fight.

He cherry picked Mike knowing he was the weakest champ since Serra.

DC is fighting the GOAT UFC HW who just broke the record and has been nothing but dominant in his current run and has essentially cleared out the division.

DC has beaten everyone not named steroid jones in his division and stipe has done the same in his....how is that being an opportunist? Dude has balls if anything.

The difference is one cleared out his division-stipe... The other was a guy who had a good night and refused to fight anybody at the top of the Heap-bisping. Moving up to fight a dominant champion it is certainly different than moving up to fight to fight the guy that people think won on a fluke-then vacating rather than fighting any of the top of the Heap guys...
 
GSP fought the weakest champ, DC is fighting the greatest HW champ the ufc has ever seen.

I know exactly what's going on. Bisping was playing games to hold the belt, GSP was trying to cement GOAT status and make more money, this is DCs only chance to cement GOAT status, DW hates Stipe, etc etc It is still a frustrating. For the record, DC is a BEAST and so is Stipe but I lean towards DC because he probably has too good a chin for Stipe to KO, and too good of wrestling for Stipe to GNP.

Simple: The HW division is garbage right now (as is the LHW division).

Miocic is just taking advantage of that. He's a good fighter, but nothing special.
 
Miocic is a legit champ with 3 defenses against top contenders.

Bisping is a clown who fought a 50yr old as his only defense.

If any legit top 10 MW were champion, GSP would not have even bothered taking the fight. You and I know that.

Since DC was previously a dominant HW it's not as much of a reach as it seems, really. All respect to Stipe and I hope he wins. It's just the whole Fanboys vs. Haters thing here.
