Could DC's psychological games affect outcome of the fight: is Herb now ismore friendly with DC and would be affraid to do some actions, which could be interpreted by DC as "in Jones favor " in the cage ? So he will not view the fight objectively?

Dino Herbson is a professional, I think he can distance himself.

I can see DC as a referee.

Probably warning him about the blatant eye poking......No harm there!

Also, he probably told Dean, "If Jon gets me in a rear naked choke, break it apart for it being a chicken sh*t way of robbing the fans of their hard earned money!"

D.C. ended with, "Thanks Herb!"

Side note:
I would LOVE to see 2 fighters agree to a no-sub ending fight. Meaning, they duke it out until TKO/KO. A semi-return to the glory days.

Probably just warned him about the pokes. It's all about that pokes.

DC plays mind games? All I've ever seen is him gotten to by Jones. Balls deep.

Herb Dean is just trying to get a comeback fight with Jones after he screws him over.

This will go on all the way across to Wrestlemania.

I just want to see DC step into the Octagon wearing swimming goggles. Jon's corner would lose their minds.

It probably makes him react to the eye-poking. It will give DC an advantage.

..but it doesn't matter, since Jones is balls deep in DC, so he lost already.

It happens in boxing all the time. Refs get called out so to put the pressure on them and make them know they're being watched if they take no notice of something.

I wonder if they talked it over at Popeyes.. Not bc they're.. but bc DC loves Popeyes as everyone knows.. and um.. bc Popeyes is delicious

When were the glory days of no subs?

But I agree, Tank, Vitor, Don Frye and Dan Severn were awesome in the old days.

Herb Dean always plays a big part in fights. He has a ton of bad early stoppages. Then again, they usually are in favor of what the UFC is pushing - so he is a good company man.

I agree that subs were always allowed but I was referring to the days when:
All kinds of special rules where allowed such as:

#1 Want to wear 1 boxing glove in the fight?.....Go ahead!.....Or even no gloves at all?......Go ahead!
(Ahhh, the days of Big John Matua stiffening up like a 2X4......Those were the days!)

#2 Want to soccer kick to the face?....Kick away!...........GOOOOOOOOOOOOOAL!
Wanderlei's soccer skills have diminished immensely since Pride ended (

#3 Want to deliver Mark Coleman head butts?......Hammer away!

#4 Want to fight with a gi and pull one arm out and choke the guy like a rope.......No prob!......AND, want to have a fight with a gi AND have no time limit (Gracie favorite rule).....It can be arranged.

#5 Want to punch someone in the family jewels? (Joe Son)

I could go on an on but here is just a few examples. These fights were real interesting and had lots of dram, so long as both fighters agreed and, had no problems with the special rules.

One eye poke from Jones = 5 point reduction.
