He's supposed to be really good friends with Mike Patton. Early on in It's Always Sunny I read/saw an interview with Glenn and he mentioned this.

Danny owes a big portion of his career to his long time buddy Arnold.

Sure Danny acted before twins and was on a hit show taxi but Twins is/was his most successful venture he was ever apart of. He became part of pop culture when that movie came out. Arnold tells the entire story about it on the Howard stern show. P4p Twins was their most successful project they ever made.
