News Danny Barlow released from the UFC four days after UFC Vancouver split decision loss

I missed the fight, was it a snoozer?

Shocked he's been released so soon, tbh.

It was a unanimous decision loss, not a split.

Bit surprising considering he's only two losses were against Patterson, who is really underrated, and then this recent one, which actually ended up having a fair bit of excitement in it.

Thought he'd get at least 1 more.

I just copied and pasted the articles headline. Thanks for correcting it.

It was a wild scrap with multiple near finishes.

What's surprising about a contender series signee getting cut after two straight losses?

Barlow's fights were entertaining. Though he was going to become one of those midlevel guys that sticks around. Though I really didn't think middleweight would fit him.

Plus LeftHand2God is to funny not to like.

Well considering many CS fighters haven't been cut after 3, hell even 4 losses in a row, I'd thought they'd keep him. And, if the fight was a wild entertaining brawl, then that's all the more incentive to keep a guy like that.

Cutting him 4 days after he just lost is surprising, that never happens. Rough few days for the guy.

Must've been the end of his contract.
I'm sure he'll get another renewal soon.

It wouldn't make sense to cut Barlow whom is a Contender series prospect, over Nikolay Veretennikov who shows up to lose and has very bad fight IQ.

I have a feeling we'll see Barlow vs Waters in 2026

So just watched the fight. It wasn't bad. It had some good fun moments, both getting rocked here and there.

nah, it was actually a banger. second round was a contender for round of the year imo.

A contender for round of the year? That's hilarious. You must have not seen many fights this year if you think that round 2 is a contender for a round of the year.

The last fight he won was by split decision and he missed weight, lost two more since. Not like they were feeding him to the wolves either as he was a pretty big favorite in those last 3.

I think you may just be a clown. It was an excellent exciting round and I can definitely understand someone with that opinion. Disregard I saw your AV. Definitely a clown

I thought he'd be the next Jon Jones. Anyway, he was probably on a 4 fight contract and they chose not to resign him.
