Daniel Cormier's reaction to Jon Jones sub was not wrong

It didn't look like it was fully sunk in and locked from the angle he was watching it. The fact that Gane wasn't fighting the choke also made it look like Gane didn't feel like it was tight enough, so it's an understandable POV.

But Jones still had his neck. When Gane taps it should be obvious that hey, yeah it was sunk in.

The replay showing Gane grimacing and indicating clearly it was sunk shouldn't have been needed to put 2+2 together.

Gane hardly threw any strikes and over extended on his punch. He attempted no wrist control at all. Gane stuck his head under Jones arm, and hardly tried to move his hips.

It all looked very suspicious.

I think it was just due to the threat of the take down that he didn't throw anything and also because it was still early in the fight, so there is still a feeling out process, while Jon being the more well rounded fighter is more free to attack on the feet. And him sticking his head under his arms is partly due to succumbing to the pressure and partly just poor grappling awareness because he is a rookie at it, IMO.

Sometimes fighters tap due to sustaining an injury though, while their opponent is trying to sub them. Or it could just be a way of expressing he thought it wasn't in and not a literal question of what it was, but more how.

All I see in the OP was his initial reaction (I only watched till the YTer starts talking), I don't think he had seen the replay yet. I don't know if he still questioned it after the replay.

At 0.21-0.25 you can tell Rogan notices DC's body language and is thinking about it.

As DC is one of the biggest narcissists in the sport's entire history, anybody with a brain can tell he displayed a very passionate, intimate moment of butthurt seeing his most hated rival surpass his final accomplishment yet again.

DC gets way too much hate here.

Agreed that he just didn't know what the Hel happened. Neither did I.
Obviously DC and Rogan knew nothing about the fix. That's why they were both shocked and wondering what the hell happened.

It is cuz Gane SUCKS at grappling!! Just cuz these guys are high level doesnt mean they dont make mistakes!! You're trying to imply that it was rigged obviously without saying so because you know how ridiculous it sounds. It was a huge moment and Gane choked simple as that and on the ground he panicked cuz he didnt know what to do and Jones is an amazing wrestler.

He offered plenty of defense just because he didn't do exactly what you think he should of done with slow motion replays and multiple angles doesn't mean it wasn't legit!!

You honestly think Gane choked and got scared against Jones but wasn't scared against Ngannou? That theory defies logic.

Something was very strange about the Jones/Gane fight. Boxing has been fixed for decades, you don't think that even one single UFC fight could be fixed? A very well known "undefeated" fighter like Jones winning the UFC HW belt potentially means a lot more hype and profits for the UFC every time he fights compared to Gane being the UFC HW Champ.

Let's use logic here: Did Gane suddenly forget how to do anything whatsoever on the ground? Did he not train one second on grappling? Or is it more likely something else caused Gane is suddenly freeze and do absolutely nothing on the ground?

What man alive taps that quickly to THAT if he's not being paid to do so?

There are untrained men walking the streets everyday that would've kept fighting and gotten loose.

Depends if you’ve trained the choke. I wasn’t confused at all at the time. It’s pressure on the trachea with wrist/forearm.

I would like to think its not legit, cause i thought Gane will win.

But it was probably legit.

I'm no fan of Cormier as a commentator but you guys are reaching if you think he was mad or was a hater at that moment. He was fucking shocked, like all of us, at how easy it was, and how fast it went. More shocked and in disbelief at how piss poor Gane's showing was.

What he said was fine, getting quiet afterwards kind of showed he was a little salty. But that's still professional so good on him.

Jones has Gane's neck and Gane taps. It's not that hard to figure out guys.

Stop making excuses for DC being a salty fuck at his legacy going further down the drain seeing Jones match his HW title which was all he had over Jones. He had the opportunity not to take this fight's commentary given his personal bias and conflicts of interest and took it anyways.

He deserves to be mocked for letting it get to him instead of just being a professional like he's trying to present himself to be.
You are sounding a little salty yourself…

From the initial angle I was watching live, I also didn't think the choke was in, it was only until the replay angle, that I realized, oh okay that sh*t was deep. I seen DC getting roasted for it, but I thought it was fair initially anyway.

Same, from that angle it look like he just panic tapped.

DC will get roasted by hateful jones fans no matter WHAT he says or does.

Amazing how many Sherdoggers just overlook the huge elephant in the room which is that this fight may have been fixed.

I might see what happens during the Stipe fight, and if it's more strange occurrences, I'm switching to watching Bellator instead.
UFC is allowed to fix fights as long as James Crause and his cronies don't profit from it.
One of the few sites exposing their corruption (mmadecisions) has been down from a cyber attack for a month now.

Yeah, that's exactly what I thought as well. Rogan looked like he wasn't sure what happened either.

At first I thought the fight probably wasn't fixed, but after seeing DC's and Rogan's reaction, I'm not so sure now.
