DC said on the mma hour that he feels the Jones we saw last Saturday will be the same at 200 (asuming DC is cleared). He points to things like the IV ban, and the size Jon put on for his worse cardio. He also belives Jones will be hesitant.

What do you think?

I kind of agree except for the hesitant part. I would imagine a more aggressive Jon than the one we saw against OSP. Especially since he's fought DC before.

He's really banking on Jones somehow being worse because he knows that on his best day he only took 1 round from Jon.

I think fighters always answer questions in a confident way that is beneficial to themselves

Of course DC is hoping that. He knows he can't win otherwise. All this interview does is really show where DC is mentally right now. Mentally he never though he could beat Jones but after seeing that performance now he think he has a chance. Once he gets in the cage with Jones and nothing has changed he'll break after the first round.

The funny thing is here is DC downplaying ring rust when you know damn well when Cain lost his belt they were using that as an excuse.

"Current" Cormier has a swollen foot, so how the fuck would he be able to beat a healthy Jones?

I can't tell how much I hate those stupid hypotheticals. They make no sense.

DC is just butt hurt because he can't beat Jones, and wouldn't compete at HW, so what now. Don't think he is giving up the Popeye's to make 185.

How exactly did the IV ban impact Jones' weight or cardio?

He made weight with the same ease he's always had and his cardio didn't stop him from slamming OSP in the 5th.

To be fair, Daniel Cormier as he is now is no match for Jones as he wasn't even fit to fight. He should really worry about himself and his own camp given the issues they've been having

Yeah, DC says he respects Jon's skill, but it seems like he doesn't care if Jones is at his best or worst if he beats him.

You know something interesting about this match, is that Jon Jones has never had a rematch.

I always hear fighters saying they were surprised at his reach/strength/etc....all of them didn't know what they were getting into except for rashad but even then rashad faced a very green jon jones in training.

DC knows now, he knows the strength/size he is getting into...I think Jones loses that surprise factor which I think he benefits a lot from.

Add in the fact that he is sober now...I just don't think Jones is mentally the same as when he was destroying people.

Jones will be a monster when he rematches DC.

Couldn't finish a guy on wks notice with a broken arm. Did you see the fight or are you just a bandwagoner?

Good points...

yeah pretty much. Daniel is short with short arms. I don't see why Jones would be as hesitant with Daniel. I think Jones wins that, sorry D.

that means it'll only be a 50-45 win and not a 2nd round submission victory
