Becoming elite at one skillset is far more difficult than being average at several. A large portion of the population can be decent boxers or wrestlers or BJJ guys. Less than 0.001% can become Olympic level at those sports.

Greatness in boxing terms is different from greatness in MMA terms. We haven't seen an all-time great comparable to Sugar Ray Robinson in MMA as of yet. Nobody has been that dominant for such a long period of time. At his peak he had won over 120 fights, losing only one, which he avenged 5 times.

Fedor was the closest to someone like Joe Louis who reigned for a decade as champion and defended his title dozens of times, but then his career went down in a heap when he was still close to his physical prime, and he never fought for the premier organization. Jon Jones was another one but his career was tarnished by all the scandals and potential PED use.

I'm not a massive fan or Karen. But C'mon bro. Barbosa was Legit at the time, as was RDA, as was Johnson. They may not have been AS good as he was at the time. But you cannot argue they were cans. All have wins over some very good opponents and one is a former champion.
