Dana White's Contender Series Week Two Fight Breakdown and Prediction Thread.

Way back, on a Swedish MMA website, there was a poll asking people who the next Swedish MMA star was going to be.
The results were:
1. Andreas Gustaffson
2. Anton Turkalj
3. Khamzat Chimaev

Andreas is best as a wrestler though. But he's been moving away from that due to injuries or needing to be entertaining or what have you.

Happens sometimes with scouting. Blaydes used to be the top unsigned HW prospect on the worldwide thread while Ngannou couldn't crack the top 15 even.

Ehh, Gus the Second probably isn't as big of a wrestling threat as I let on.
He had kind of that "bully wrestler" style which depends on him being more powerful and athletic, which obviously doesn't translate well when he starts facing higher-level opponents. Also has been kind of losing some of his athleticism.
Gus can throw punches in bunches but he is also a blunt and unrefined instrument with little in the ways of defence.

Tbh I'm not invested in that fight. Gus already had a middling KSW run and is too old to be making strides now, and Pat is even older and from what you could argue is a worse scene as far as talent goes in Canada.

You know it's a weak card talent wise when the HW fight might be the best fight.

They gave Imperato another chance because he had a quick win on Looking for a Fight, 100% the reason he got the chance. The guy was giving Dana a spiel "I've been working a decade to get back" while Dana looked bored at him lol (Dana forgot the guy was ever signed)
