Media Dana White vs Ngannous Managment

Hasn't the UFC been pretty good to Ngannou? Like moving him to Vegas and setting him up with top notch trainers. I think they really wanted him to be champion, because he can help break into the African market.

So Francis is already stripped for failing to defend his title within 6 months.

Meanwhile Aljamain Sterling is yet to set any date to defend.

Classic UFC and Dana.

Marquel is an idiot. This was NOT a win pissing off the person who holds the cards. Ngannou won't make anywhere near what he's asking for in any other org out there. He won't make anywhere near what his contract is right now outside of the UFC. UFC can strip Frank anytime they want.

This isn't a good look for the company he represents either.

It's interesting that the manager claims White knows very well why Ngannou needs more time, but won't let his post's audience in on said reason. If it's a legit and compelling one, it would presumably bolster his case significantly.
Depends on the circumstances. But he makes it seem like he's willing to possibly let the reason be known. Don't wanna piss Francis off though

Francis fought just 3 freakin months ago
He's in his prime.. He didn't take very much damage, dominated the whole fight, finished rather quickly again without taking damage.. Champions these days work their career toward winning the belt first thing you hear is I want to take some time off.. these dudes love holding down the belt.. they want a long title reign before dealing with the stress of another title fight, which makes sense.. but Ngannou isn't a young buck either.. His prime won't carry on past 3-5 more years if he is lucky. Plus I believe at the negotiation table his management tried to play hardball. scoffed at the lewis fight, wanted Jon Jones.. asked for more money, and more times.. basically gave some bull shit, when Dana showed up all smiles like hey buddy when is the next fight I have August or around the corner.. Around the corner Ngannou says.. what about Jon Jones? Jon!! are you serious.. and more money... those smiles turned to angry face real quick on dana.. and he wasn't having none of this managers bull shit.

Except Francis is ready to fight in September and asking for it. That would be what 6 months since he won the title ? Very reasonable. So your whole argument about inactivity is not valid.

Dude.. they offer you a fight a month before the date you want you take the freaking date... September doesn't work for them.. it ain't about what you want, it's about what's in the UFC schedule.. they probably said look... Jan vs Glover is headlining September's PPV... we don't want you on that card.. I don't care about your damn parade and fucking off that you're trying to do. The dude came out the last fight with barely a scratch.. no medical injury.. no block of physical contact by the commission. It ain't even about September man.. don't you get it?? Obviously they did some shit to piss Dana Off.. where he said you know what.. nah.. fight August.. or hey you wanna wait.. cool wait for Gane vs Lewis and then we'll do December. I don't have time for this shit.

It makes no sense for a manager to have a public feud with the promoter. It doesn't serve their client.

As suspected, I knew it was his management effing with Francis. The guy was homeless on the street like 8 years ago. I doubt he would become a diva is such a quick amount of time unless he had someone manipulating him.

Edit: Ok I read the reply from the manager. Looks like Dana bully tactics. I would just roll with it if I was Francis. As long as he doesn't get stripped, I'd just keep it pushing. The real loser in this is Derek. He's just lost out on a title shot over Dana being impatient.

Hard not to clap back when Dana targets you directly. I hear what your saying though. I would have just done a short statement. Maybe not go on the rant like the manager did.

Dana doesn't give a crap about titles, who deserves the shot or treating people equally. This we have known but this is a great example. Francis just became champ a few months ago, don't make an interim belt, just make a #1 contender fight.

I wonder who to side with here...The professional shit talking wannabee hardman known for his many many lies? No, I'll take the guy who is trying to do the best for his client with a clear agenda. I love this guy! So nice to see that sted head get called on his bullshit. I wonder why they're making an interim title? What's the agenda here for the UFC?

The problem if you have already promised Lewis a TS in his hometown, it's hard to backtrack and only give him a #1 contender fight(which means shit anyway, because Stipe and Jones can still jump the queue).

Maybe Lewis preferred to fight for interim title in Texas than for the undisputed belt elsewhere in September.

I guess I have to reserve judgment until / unless the facts come out, but it's hard for me to imagine why he'd be so coy about stating a legit reason.

Bad mgmt trying to play victim after failed bad negotiations

Jan vs Glover has been moved to a later date. So September is good for them. You'd be a perfect slave with that mentality. "Yes my lord, of course my lord"

You hear "they already signed a contract and now Francis is backing out!" A lot on here. This may be the case at their job at Burger King, but in real business when a massive change in your value occurs, you renegotiate your contract.

Slave? nah.. but wouldn't let my management screw over the first title defense because they wanted to milk out the championship reign.. your words of wisdom would totally work wouldn't it.. guess that's why they are making an interim belt... You don't have to be a damn slave but dont be retarded and let the belt basically get stripped away..
