Media Dana White vs Ngannous Managment

In such cases where the champ is refusing to fight (if that's true) why not strip them and set an example? And when they are ready to come back let them get the next title shot, granted it's within a reasonable period. The only reason the UFC wouldn't do this is because then it sets a precedent and they can't pick and choose who they strip as easily. If the UFC wants to be considered a sports organization they need to have a structures and rules in place that are not dictated by Dana and Co's period cycles.

The only other "sport" where this happens is boxing, which by Dana's own admission is a circus, yet he follows the same path.

Can you imagine if one of the NFL finalists refused to play their opponents in the finals, and were holding out for a more popular or less able team?

Edit: To clarify, I have no problem with Francis waiting till Sept. My point if the UFC really has a problem with it, strip him and crown and new champion instead of making another interim title. All I'm saying is set a standard and follow it irrespective of who the fighter/champion is.

MAN would i like to do business with Dana an Co.

It's interesting that the manager claims White knows very well why Ngannou needs more time, but won't let his post's audience in on said reason. If it's a legit and compelling one, it would presumably bolster his case significantly.

The main difference is NFL is a tournament structure, boxing and mma isn't. There is a ranking system and it's prize fighting, so their match making is going to be different because of that. It will be a mix of contenders and money fights, that's just how it goes in combat sports. It's fight entertainment.

Lol of course it's different but the analogy still holds. Basically the champion refusing to fight the #1 contender is analogous to my finalist example.

Being champion wouldn't have any more meaning then if you can be stripped when you're willing to defend your title. Francis wants to fight in September rather than in August. Big deal. Dana wants to control every little thing and that's not right.

Remember when Ngannou wanted a interim belt against Rozenstruik because Stipe and DC were doing there thang. They were fighting once a year but UFC gave Ngannou the long finger.

I agree with you, which is why I said it's absurd to see these decisions being made based on Dana's mood swings.

I guess this thing just caught Dana at the wrong time of the month, so he lashed back.

MMA wouldn't be where it is today without Dana

His time is over though. His HGH fueled ego is holding the UFC back. Endeavor shareholders need to have a meeting and kick his ass to the curb.
