Dana White tries so hard to argue that UFC fighters are not underpaid.
Has he ever given actual stats on how much the average pay out to fighters is compared to how much revenue they actually make?
Whenver he's asked about this he right away goes on to discredit whoever that person is that spoke out on their pay, like Tito, and of course recently Cowboy.
Do any of you on here agree with how much ufc athletes make? Do any of you think Dana ever makes sense when it comes to this topic? And finally, is the UFC justified to pay their athletes so little in comparison to the revenue they make off them?

When Dana talks I just kinda zone out

Why would he do that?

If the fighters don't like the pay, go somewhere else. Simple.

wow I didn't know salaries in america were based on overall company revenue. I guess even the janitors of Google offices must be millionaires.

Thats why all the great athlete don't come to the fighting game no more.
(especially true for Heavyweight)
(mma, Boxing)

Of course he doesnt want to pay them more, but of course they deserve better payment.

From an interview posted here yesterday: "If i told you how much the top fighters make...(pause) you'd be blown away"

Dana should be the chancellor at trump university.

Alothough i dont agree with the wages for "pro athletes in ufc" i do own a buisness.

All im gonna say is i really dont know of any for profit buisness where the bulk of the money goes to the staff.

It would be counter productive to growing the buisness.

We are talking about pro athletes here that actually make money for this organization, not a janitor that cleans up, but that must be how Dana feels about the fighters.

Shouldn't they at least get bigger share of the pot?

If you're so concerned about fighter pay, why don't you tear open the velcro on your Spiderman wallet and spot a random fighter a C-Note???

Dana clearly doesn't give a damn (according to Sherdog)...maybe you should start caring more as a fan! You are a fan, aren't you???

Fighters - the janitors of the mma business

This is business. The management (UFC) vs labor (fighters) battle has been going on ever since man decided to hire men to work for him.

They are both fighting for the same slices of pie. And with the way the Republicans have been shattering unions across the country I don't see average fighter pay increasing significantly until the Democrats and unions take back power.

Read some Karl Marx. Educate yourself.

Most 6'4" 200+ lbs freak athletes are smart enough to come nowhere near combat sports

Sometimes I think that nobody on Sherdog has ever owned a business.

I didn't know that anyone still thought Marx was right. Didn't the fall of the Soviet Union put that stupidity to rest?

There is no right and wrong in business, provided its within the rules of course. Owners will try to pay as little as possible, and workers will try to get as much as possible. Somewhere between those numbers there will be a wage agreement.
If the pay is too high, the business stands to lose money and fold.
If the pay is too low, the workers are liable to find other jobs.
As neither owner nor fighter, every poster on Sherdog should want the highest quality athletes at money can buy, without going over the company's profit line. What really wrecks things, for a fan, is seeing giant loads of money going to a handful of top five fighters, while other fighters make an amount that makes them want to leave.

If i remember correctly the ufc reported making 150 million profit in 2015.

Thst not that much for a 4 bil dollar company. Infact if it was publicly traded it would be considered a bad year by stockholders. So as much as i want to say yes from a buisness perspective i have to say no.

That's backwards thinking. There was a company in Seattle that realized companies abuse the shit out of employees in all walks of life, so the CEO set a minimum salary for the entire company at 70,000 (if you'd worked there I think it was 3 years, so some slacker couldn't just walk in the door for a nice salary.)

Employees are the most important asset of any company, and creative and profitable companies tend to treat their employees well.

Its like this in every sport. People dont realize this.

My buddy was drafted by the cubs. Made 20 grand a year foe 2 years and got injured. Had to go to work.

Its not all glamor for professional athletes.
