You mentioned in your OP that it's a travesty for Fedor to be mentioned along with Anderson, and then go on to say that he's top 5 and that you're not a hater? Something's not adding up, and I suspect that it's your ability to make logically consistent posts.

Fedor was good one of the best him and anderson, but i agree with you that Andy takes it. Now just dont say Fedor was never that good and had a padded record because both you and i know thats not true.

I lost $300 real money though lol
First 2 rounds was back & forth, incredible action and by the 3rd he faded.
Overall very good fight and performance on Shogun's part.
Much respect to Gustafsson, he was the better man that night.
 
Anderson is Neo. Fedor is Morpheus.

I loved that thread a while back about the indigenous shaman that attended a Silva fight in Brazil and saw a demon in Anderson as he fought. It's testimony like Bonnar's that make the hair on the back of my neck stand up. What if... what if Anderson does have a demon in him?

Yes Anderson is a true great. A true elite. The only issue with is amazing career is that he has not fought any other elites, during his prime run, outside Hendo so we can see how truly great he is.

Beating guys one or two rungs below you may be great and flashy and fun to watch but they do not demonstrate true skill even if fans can be fooled into thinking they do. Put Hector Lombard back in Belator or Nick Diaz back in SF and they will embarrass guys. Put them up against equal talent and suddenly ever fight goes to relatively close decision. No these guys are not Anderson, but that is the point, when you fight guys a rung below, flashy wins happen way more often.

Fedor is still #1 in my books all time but I have no issue with those who choose Anderson.

Don't get me wrong, I like Fedor and currently have him in the top 3 (him and GSP at 2 shared right now, wanna put him above GSP but his last 3 losses really hurt his legacy), but he also lost to a 207lb Dan Henderson. The same Dan Henderson that Anderson Silva submitted.

Anderson Silva is in the discussions because he's proven that he deserves to be there. He's beaten everybody in his division pretty much. Rich Franklin, Vitor Belfort, Dan Henderson, Yushin Okami, Chael Sonnen, Nate Marquardt, etc.

With Fedor, sure, he had his huge winning streak that was definitely something at the time. But right now, you look back at some of those names and you realize that after Pride got merged into the UFC Fedor should have followed. Had he done that, he would probably be considered the greatest of all time. Had he been in the UFC enough to fight Couture and fight Lesnar and Mir and all these guys that were doing great things in the UFC then yeah. But he didn't and because of that I can't put him above Anderson.
 
Omg did you see Anderson demolish Bonnar like omfg!!

Anderson was like a 10:1 favorite going into the fight guys. It's not rocket science. Bombard style didn't pose much of a threat.
 
Comparing Fedor to Anderson is ok, both are monsters, legends.


But what makes me sick is when I see people comparing GSP with them!!!!! It's just unacceptable...
