I never realized how the system actually works until a few years ago. Apparently the judge can insert his own opinions , beliefs and personal bias when making a decision . Watched many interviews with former judges proudly talk about how they determined someone was guilty and it’s complete nonsense . We do not have a fair justice system . You get lucky or you don’t .

Sometimes I'm sure if the judge thinks it's unfair. I agree with the judge btw, it does seem low and unfair. The UFC has been getting away with murder for like forever, time to pay a little.

I don’t know, the judge is risking things for the fighters that the fighters didn’t want to risk.

The only reason things ever settle is because both parties are afraid they will lose at trial. I assume by rejecting the settlement, the fighters could possibly get nothing, which is why they agreed in the first place.

It seems sorta weird for the judge to force that kind of risk on everyone.

I mean, it could settle for a better offer for the fighters… or worse… or it could go to trial and the UFC could lose a lot more or lose nothing at all.
