I wonder how this compares percentage wise to other sports. Roger goodell makes like $40 million but that isn't at all close to the entire NFL

Conor made like 10 mill for the Aldo fight alone... the 24,500 is a median number not the mean. the mean I would guess would be somewhere around 55-70k

What does the average programmer at Microsoft make compared to Bill Gates?

Wouldn't surprise me if Dana works close to 100 hours a week.

That doesn't mean I agree with him making $15M when some of his fighters barely make enough to pay the rent, but if you offered me $15M and I had to work 100 hours a week to earn it, my mind and body would probably give out not even halfway thru the year.

There was a thread when people were acting as though Dana's job is easy and that he doesn't work that hard. It's pretty clear to me that UFC is his life and the hours that he puts in are insane. IMO, he deserves what he gets paid.

As he should, part owner (10%). Should employees make more than employer?

Fighters choose that career path, if they dont agree with the pay, find a new job.

Why they didn't say the mean (rather than median) is beyond me. Median is the single most useless stat. Hell, even mode is better because it shows where the non-famous bulk are at.

Yeah though obviously MMA (Zuffa in particular) is more management-heavy-in-terms-of-pay than other sports

There were 473 fights in the UFC in 2015.

That's $11,588,500.

Dana White made $15,000,000 in 2014.

Whatever.

Conor Made 10 million from the Diaz fight and 9 million in the Aldo fight. So... McGregor makes more than Dana?

What does one have to do with the other? Dana White is the President and has his hands in promoting every single one of those events. You don't have to fight in the UFC. You can do your homework and see what your earning potential is before getting into the fight game.

Yes, but Dana is a shareholder in the UFC. He's worth over $300,000,000. His pals are billionaires too so he probably invests his money and has many streams of income. His UFC pay is basically his day job but his worth comes elsewhere. He is rich.

Does Bill Gates make more than entire microsoft employees? Does Goldman Sachs's Blankein make more every single banker and trader in the firm combined? LOL..

DW and UFC makes Don King and Bob Arum look like couple philantrhopists.

Your numbers are not correct, you cant just take the average for that and say the salaries are 11,588,000. The UFC paid out $20,000,000 in salaries for the 13 ppv alone in 2015 and that does not include all the fox shows and UFN shows. In addition, this is just salaries and fight win bonuses, this does not include the PPV% for certain fighters. Including everything they get paid if you take the 5 highest paid fighters they would surpass Dana.

But they are NOT employees. Fighters are independent contractors. Pacman makes more money than his promoter Arum per fight because the star takes the lion share.

As he should.

He's part owner of the company that changed all of their bum ives.

Really? For $15M? Sounds like you're a sad example of a man. No offense of course.
