Dana White has only 1 option that makes sense.

The UFC is stuck between a rock and a hard place, no matter how much they may dislike Mcgregor's behavior they are still at his mercy unfortunately. I see only 1 way out for them, give Mcgregor only 1 option for his next fight, Khabib. The UFC should make a very public gesture of Mcgregor's unwillingness to fight, if he should choose to fight there should be only a single option regardless of circumstance. What this will portray to the fans and media is a very simple fact, Conor is either afraid of Khabib (my opinion) or he returns vs Khabib (and we all get to watch the legendary beating he receives).

Give McGregor Khabib or nothing, he either looks like the chickenshit that he is or the Eagle takes his soul. This situation is a lose-lose for Mcgregor and a win-win for the UFC. Connor's brand is much weaker if he's known to have fled from Khabib and the UFC can beat that horse to death.

What happens if Mcgregor wins? well that's just a risk the UFC should be willing to take, Mcgregor already owns them so really there isn't much to lose.

Conor won't be fighting in the UFC for a LONG time.

sue him for $50m (lost UFC 223 earnings), but offer to drop the lawsuit if he fights for $1m + $2/PPV over a million sold (and of course the extra big bucks potential of $50k in Reebok money.) and offer to pay off whatever out of court settlements Cheisa, Borg & others will demand.

sure.

I'd agree with that but the important part here is that he gets only 1 opponent as an option, with your suggestion they'd just make a 3rd Diaz fight and honestly, I couldn't be less interested in a fight. If the UFC fails to pigeonhole Mcgregor into a fight with Khabib, I will never again pay for a PPV out of principle. I typically buy 8-10 fights a year but I simply would not be able to live with myself if Mcgregor gets to have his cake and eat it too. Khabib or nothing, that should be Mcgregors choice.

Conor vs Lee Murray, for the prison strap, only on PPV. They can dip their gloves in broken glass, Kickboxer-style.
