Media Dana shuts down Francis ever returning

This isn’t a good post. There are many, many companies in the world that won’t want you back if you quit, even if you don’t talk shit on them in the process.

Also, every company endeavors to be a monopoly. We (observers who aren’t all up in their emotions) claim that the UFC isn’t a monopoly, because it’s not.

I wouldn't characterise finishing out your contract and moving on as quitting.
He fulfilled his obligations. They entered into negotiations and it didn't work out. That's business. You can't make every deal.
To unequivocally state he will never be back just because you got your feelings hurt is stupid. There shouldn't be anything personal here.
Isn't the ufc In this business to make money while simultaneously entertaining the fans? By giving them the biggest and best fights?
I can understand fully if Francis is to lose outside of the ufc and his stock drops but we are talking hypothetically that he asks to come back right now. Nothings changed. The landscape is the exact same. The only difference is the ufc are all hurt in their feelings and want to power move Francis at the expense of the fans, the most important people in this equation.

So if you ever turn down their offer and choose to test free agency then you are banned forever. And they claim they are not/ trying to put a stranglehold on the sport by being a monopoly?
Lol it’s a whole lot more complicated than that. Francis has been difficult for them to work with since before he got the stipe rematch. Dana’s distaste for working with him stems from long before the contract negotiations came up.

Example being Shane Burgos. Shane left for a pfl offer and Dana had nothing but nice things to say about the guy.

Look, I don’t disagree. This should be about the business, not bruised egos. I’m just saying that when you walk away from a business you don’t always get to come back.

Base pay. In reality we do not know what he actually make

"As always, these figures do not represent a fighter’s total earnings, as certain sponsorship incomes, pay-per-view bonuses, or discretionary post-fight bonuses are not publicly disclosed."

Yeah and Povetkin and Whyte had 3,5 and 4 million gbp as their base pay, that didn't include sponsorships, based on the modest ppv numbers, both of them easily banked close to 10 million dollars each.

Why do you think Stipe worked as a fire fighter? Because he loved it so much?

Actually yes..

"I like being there for a person that needs you," Miocic said. "No matter if they're just a little bit sick or if they're in full [cardiac] arrest or something. Doing the best you can to get them stable and get them to the hospital … The whole fireman aspect, helping people any time, day or night, I just love it. I love every second of it, just knowing there's a chance I could help someone."

Dana is on the booger sugar he will always talk shit, its his job anyways.

He sat out, turned down a fight, then made a bunch of demands above his popularity...
All the talk now is that he's pricing himself out of contracts.
He made like he wanted change but really it's about the cash

Almost certainly all just posturing by Uncle Dana. The more he buries Francis to the press, the more it makes Francis look in a weaker position to the public, and the less bargaining power Francis has. If/when it makes business sense to, the UFC will 100% be open to negotiations with Francis; which is likely to be late this summer.

That’s an extreme but effective way to protect Jon.

Oh I don't disagree at all on that.
It happens.
In this instance it would be just silly though. There's huge upside, benefit to them and the fans. To make that jon jones fight would be great for the sport too.
It's not like they have some other candidate to fill his position.
I don't buy into this stipe angle they are going for. He's old, not fought in years and is likely washed up.i see what they are trying to do though.
It obviously needs to happen right now before Francis makes another move. There's too much risk of him losing.
I appreciate the ufc have offered all they are willing so the ball would be in Francis Court to reach out and try and make it happen.
That's the scenario anyway, that Francis changed his mind and agrees to their terms. They rightfully should fully believe in and gamble on jones here.
One would think they would've developed some thicker skin by now. Making it all this way and ruling on emotions over logic.

Francis had an incredible story, I rooted for him... but ended up becoming such a diva.

If the problem with the deal was the healthcare and all, it was never gonna get done. UFC thought they could replace that with money and Ngannou didn't agree.
And Dana + the UFC don't strike me as the kind of people who let go of you refusing a whole bunch a money because you know it tore their asshole to offer it.
