Rumored Dana says they are trying to make Tony vs Chandler not a done deal yet

i got tony in the upset.

chandler will try to make it a just bleed fight and gas out in the process.

If it's a five round fight, I can very easily see that happening.

Regardless of their rankings, this should be a great fight that I'll be looking forward to and think should be the big win Chandler needs after having dropped his last 2.

too many people counting tony out imo, if chandler decides to stay on the feet again tony has a chance.

especially since chandler was just in a big war.

This is a horrible match up for Tony as Chandler is a much better wrestler with more firepower on his feet as well . Tony ‘s only chance is a snap down Darce and that only tends to work if his opponent is taking damage . I believe that Gregor Gillespie is a better match up as Tony May concede the wrestling but at least have better stand up. RDA on the rematch as well and even Islam as it as close to Khabib vs Ferg as we will ever get , would all be better matches .

Fucking stupid fight. Tony shouldn't even be ranked anymore and Chandler's still a top 5ish guy.
Rankings doesn't matter at this point as it has be evident for the pass years. These are exciting fights that garners views.

Sure, I'll gladly take it.

Long history of luv for Ferg but backing Chandler here.

I can't bear to see Tony lose again, I would much prefer it if they matched him up with Conor. Get him a red panty night, and the chance to win vs a semi retired high profile opponent.

If this is a five rounder and Tony survives the opening 2 rounds, hes def gonna take it with a brutal beatdown of Chandler. Big if

Ya past two fights Chandler got whooped and hit in the head more then Tonys past two fights

Nooooo. Tony needs a big step back in competition. Like Connor or Nate if they want to keep him in a higher profile fight

Maybe someone like a Drew Dober or Bobby Green if they don't want to use him for Connor or Nate. But not Chandler
Looks like Dustin/Nate are next. Conor is not even close to being ready, and it’s possible he may never fight again.

He’s ranked number 7 and you want him to fight unranked guys? That’s a bit extreme isn’t it? And what if he actually lost to one of these guys? His career is most definitely over.

After 3 losses in a row he is actually getting the chance to fight up. No matter how I look at it that is the way to go. A loss definitely takes him out of the top 10. But would a win against an unranked guy necessarily be enough to keep him in the top 10 either? Maybe hold his rank if he’s lucky, then what? Fight backwards again? If you’re in the top 10 your goal has to be to fight up. Or what’s the point?

Sure it’s risky, but go hard or go home at this point. He’s not getting any younger. And he probably has a decent contract. You can’t be paying a guy making his money to fight unranked guys. It’s counterproductive, and both these guys have names. And it’s not like it’s impossible for him to win.

He’s ranked number 7 and you want him to fight unranked guys?

Yes. He shouldn’t be still ranked #7 after 3 brutal loses. It’s not like they were close 29-28 decisions

Time to see if he can have a get right fight and should still be ranked, or give an unranked guy an opportunity

UFC ranking allows guys to stay high up with losses to good fighters, as opposed to better looking fighters on winning streaks getting a chance to prove themselves against those good guys

Tony’s best chance at a top win ….. Tony still hits hard

Nah maybe +300. Chandler always blow his wad and fights at a pace he can't sustain for 3 rounds. Tony still has his durability going for him if nothing else, he'll probably lose but it's more winnable than someone who will grapple him for 15 minutes straight like Oliveira & Dariush did.
Chandler's pride will dictate if this fight is close or a blowout. Chandler can easily pull the Beniel/Charles gameplan of top-heavy grappling or fight him in a blood and guts standup brawl where I still favour Chandler but much better for Tony to pull the upset like that.

Chandler should win, but he needs to wrestle.

The longer this fight goes, the corpse of Tony will take advantage

How does Tony keep getting these high level fights. He needs a huge drop in competition.
They can't pay him his current fees for a rebound fight.
They should, after all he's done, but this has been Dana's logic.

Tony made around 700k for his lackluster performance at UFC 262.

If Dana wasn't willing to pay Anderson Silva that kinda money, with only 1 fight left on contract, he surely won't be paying Tony that kinda money to fight in fill-in slots on PPV.
