Rumored Dana says they are trying to make Tony vs Chandler not a done deal yet

Tony can win. He got grapple-fooked by Dariush and Charles, and lost a stand-up war against Gaethje.

Dariush and Charles are on long win streaks. Gaethje is fighting for the belt next and only recent loss was to Khabib. You can't say Tony is 100% done.
 
I knew people on both sides gonna bitch about this.

Tony needs a fight,and they are trying to give him a big one. They also probably feel Chandler is sure to win,and he def does need a win.
 
Good, Chandler needs an easy fight to get right back into the tittle picture.
 
Is this the fight where Tony finally gets KO’d?
I hope not … but I have a bad feeling about this
 
Interesting matchup. Chandler deserves props for the gauntlet he's going through. Tony is done but he will fight to the death and not afraid to trade bombs for 5 rounds.
 
Chandler is going to eat his soul. Damn, tough to be Tony these days.

I think they both should get lay-up matchups. Tony getting crushed by Chandler is going to take all the remaining wind out of his sails. If they gave Tony an easier warmup and then matched him reasonably, we could see some great Tony fights . But maybe Tony wouldn't accept anyone else, I could see him doing that.
 
I hope this fight happens. Can't wait to watch it.

Thats a good point, Tony's durability/cardio and standup work better for him in this matchup, but then we also saw Tony get beaten pretty soundly standing with Gaejte, a guy Chandler just went toe to toe with.

It seems unlikely that Tony's going to perform any better than his last few outings, and maybe even worse. He's the kind of fighter whose dropoff is probably going to be pretty steep, arguably just like we've seen.
 
How does Tony keep getting these high level fights. He needs a huge drop in competition.

But yeah, I think Chandler takes it if the fight materializes.

It is the perception that people have of Tony being Chuck Lidell finished for MMA.

As for Tony, he fought the elite also but he looked like complete shit. He was competive in none of these fights even if you take 30 seconds frame of each besides his uppercut vs Gaethje.
