Saw a video where Dana announced Ferguson was out. In it he mentions that conor wouldnt be able to make 155 on a week notice. Also says he wouldnt ask conor to fight short notice like this because it wouldn't have the buildup needed.

My questions are, how big is conor? Both George Sullivan (Holloways cutting coach) and my instructor (former world ranked fighter) say max is cutting a huge amount of weight..... So the UFC is protecting conor by not wanting to chance his losing unless it's monetarily advantageous?

No wonder that guy picked and chose a lot of his fights! They were in it together..... Also if he's over 180 how much credit does he get for beating on smaller fighters at 145? (Midgets)? Lol

Dana won't make Conor fight on 6 days notice. Too much to lose and not a whole lot to gain.

"Dana protecting conor?"

Do you even have to ask?

They're protecting their own business, and Conor is key to their business. What's wrong with that?

Is Mac in the testing pool? I was almost positive he was tripping over big bricks of cocaine scattered throughout his house but I suppose USADA frowns on that sorta thing

Conor is protected. Although he would rather lose his belt than fight Tony or khabib. I think that is funny.

Of course he is protecting him. He is the last cash cow left. What's the point of putting Conor on a card with a week notice which may help increase the buys by 2-300k at most, if even that.Whereas you can promote a PPV with him, to sell north of a millions.

Is it right from a fight/sports fan perspective? Of course not, but people seem to forget that the UFC is an entertainment company now, not a sport org.

If McGregor is going to lose DW is going to make sure they squeeze every possible cent out of it and to do that it takes about 6 months promotion.

It has nothing to do with "protecting" Conor from a fighting standpoint but it is protecting him from a marketing standpoint, which is a smart move business-wise.
Can't blame the UFC for wanting more time to build up a fight featuring their biggest moneymaker.

WHAT'S WRONG WITH THAT?!

Welcome to the real world, buddy.

If you have an employee who's making you 50x more than everyone else, but only shows up for work once a week, you make the exception for him, in fact you reward him, give him a raise, a corner office and a flexible schedule. What you absolutely do not do is subject him to the same rules as all other employees and punish him for missing work days. That's how real life works.

It's wrong from a sports org perspective, but the UFC is not a sports org anymore. It is an entertainment company.

Prize fighting has always been sports entertainment. Without the entertainment factor the sport wouldn't exist in the first place.

Every hardcore's favorite MMA promotion Pride is the embodiment of that very concept.

Conor already lost once, if he loses again, they will just schedule an instant rematch and pay off the judges (like last time).

Its pretty straid forword if u ask me. Its a business and UFC wants do what makes the most sense for their bottom line. Just think about it. If Conor dose short notice fights fans get to see a Conor fight and pay ticket prices of a non Conor fight. Only at the gate UFC would loose millions. Then think about all the lost ppv buys cuz ppl dont have the time to plan their lives around a Conor ppv. Conor has probobly prized himself out of any chance to take a short notice fight at this point. When has ever Conor picked a fight? The Diaz rematch?

UFC was never a sports organization. It's been a circus from day 1.

Nah I had McGregor winning the first, second and fourth rounds.

And I had money on Diaz.

The best argument for Diaz is a draw.

I do believe though that if Diaz had 30 more seconds in the fifth he would have stopped Conor.

Dana can be my body guard any time.

Most of the other employees will start looking for another job because you're not treating them fairly.
