Dana: GSP won rounds 1, 3, 5.

Dana is so annoying. When he watched the fight live he went to into a state of hyperbolic hysteria, gave GSP only one round and humiliated him at the press conference. Now he scores it for GSP? Doesn't make much sense.

Dana has said he never said he gave GSP the fight, I don't understand why people want to believe Dana said it as if his word means something, then don't believe him when he says he didn't say it.

It's confusing how people want to believe Dana said something they never heard him say, but don't want to believe him when they're hearing him deny it.

Personally, I don't care what Dana has said, his opinion on the fight doesn't change who I think won, and my opinion on who won the fight has no bearing on the official decision rendered by the judges, which is the only opinions that actually matter on the fight.

Hendricks 1, 2, 4 Landed the harder and more damaging shots in each of those rounds so I scored the fight for him 48-47

It says in the UFC rulebook and guidelines that when 2 fighters are equal or relatively equal in strikes then damage must be accounted for. GSP and Johny were almosg dead even in strikes for most of the fight.

Id score 20 landed jabs a lot less than 20 powerful hooks that landed.

Gave 2 to GSP and 2 to Hendricks. First round was pretty much a draw; but gave it to Hendricks because he landed elbows to GSP's head that cut him; only significant strikes of the round.

HOWEVER, at the end of the day, in any group you look at, (fighters/Magazines/fans) the majority thought Hendricks won.

So at the end of the day, Hendricks is indeed the "people's champion" while GSP was relegated to a "paper's champion"... :icon_chee

In one of those polls linked 91 people voted that GSP won round 2 in the fight.

How could you think that this is irrelevant? Not only did the majority of journalist feel that Hendricks won the fight, but the majority of fighters both former and current thought that Hendricks won the fight.

The fact that we are talking about the opinions of professional journalist, who have been covering the sport for years, and the opinions of fighters, who actually compete in the sport, makes they're opinions more valid than wayward fans. Also, the majority of the fans thought that Hendricks won the fight as well, so the mere fact that the majority of the MMA world saw this fight as one sided should tell you alot.

There's a good reason hearsay is inadmissible in court.

You would still only have his word to go on. There is a reason why scientists considers witness testimonies to be the weakest kind of evidence.

I can't let this statement slide. A large majority of news outlets scoring the fight decided in favor of Hendricks. I think these writers have some clue how to score an MMA fight. The question is not one of damage, but who won the most rounds. Those who believe Hendricks won (myself included) generally scored rounds 1, 2, and 4 for Hendricks. Also, it is entirely reasonable to interpret "effective striking" to mean that a stiff punch to the face is worth significantly more than a weak inside leg kick. Let's stop trying to paint certain fans as lunatics simply because they scored the fight for Hendricks. There is a strong argument for that position.

I had the fight for GSP but I see your argument. It was a close fight & neither side can claim it was a clear cut decision.

GSP's face is easy to damage and looks like it did a lot after his fights. GSP's was healed up by now too, Lawlers still likes like something of a monster movie.

His photo 4 or 5 days later looks like he used a "Make my face a zombie" ap. :redface:

Straw man. Hendricks won three rounds against GSP and three rounds against Lawler. Hence, the reason that he won both fights. Damage was not the deciding factor in either fight.
