Dana calls JDS HW gatekeeper

Because if you beat him, you deserve a fight with cain.

Not that the term gatekeeper has a ton of meaning to begin with.

Gatekeeper generally refers more to getting into the top 10/contender position. Eg a guy like Roy nelson, if you can beat him you're a decent top 10 and probably can make a title run. A gatekeeper isn't the number 2 guy in the world, otherwise no one deserves a title shot at all

if JDS is the gatekeeper then we're not going to have any HW title fights for the next few years.

So the guy who has beaten everyone including the current champ is a gatekeeper? I realize he has lost to Cain now twice in a row, which keeps him away from another shot for a while. But who says Cain will stay champion for a long time. Saying the number 2 fighter in a weight class is a gatekeeper is silly. But who cares anyways.

Don't forget, this guy talked shit about Fedor and GSP - 2 of the nicest people on the planet.

You should know by now that he's capable of anything.

Too funny. And I caught flak from some sherdoggers for daring to call the Great Frank Mir the HW gatekeeper - way back when after he had just gone 1-1 against the legendary Brock Lesnar.

Dana deserves one of these- every time we see him. He has discovered honesty is the best policy if you can afford it. Now, he won't change his views which are wrong, about Fedor etc, but doing the right thing for the employees of the company. He couldn't be more spot on. I am sure they appreciate it- to no end.:icon_neut

He guards the gate to the belt. Beating him would mean immediate title shot.

If JDS goes on a Faber like streak where he just demolishes four guys including a top 3 fighter (like how Faber beat Macdonald), then you can't argue against giving him another title shot.
