Great, great fight. Winner should definitely get a step up to top 15 competition. Possibly the prelim headliner?

Who wins?

Great fight. I’m leaning toward hooker by KO but wouldn’t be surprised to see Burns get a sub

Pretty bad match-up for Hooker, but his game-plans have been on-point lately. Hoping he pulls this one out.

I'm taking Burns. Better BJJ and major power in his hands. I think he's a better version of Hooker.

They're not really all that similar, in my opinion. Hooker has become quite a technical striker who likes to fight long, whereas Burns is more of a brawler on the feet. Hooker has landed a few nice front-chokes, but he's not a particularly dominant grappler, whereas that's where Burns excels, despite his recent knockouts.

If Hooker keeps this on the feet I'm taking him. Burns throws with confidence and could land a bomb, but Hooker's got a great chin and should have an easier time landing shots thanks to his range and, what I perceive to be, superior striking skill. That said, Hooker's TDD has been hit or miss and Burns is relatively athletic and has pretty good takedowns. If Hooker gets taken down and doesn't pop right up, the fight's probably not going his way.

hooker vs hatsu hioki was a very bad matchup for him as well. didnt turn out too well for hioki.

Yeah I see what you mean. Hooker is definitely more refined on the feet and excels at using his range where as Burns relies on getting inside with a brawlers combo and landing a big shot. That lankiness does make Hooker a lot more susceptible to TDs though. I think Burns will be able to hit at least a few. And when he gets on the mat, he's very quick with submission hunting.

Kind of a pick-em for me.

Hooker has some nasty striking, but Burns owns him on the ground.

Gun to head, Burns, via sub.

Prelim headliner? Have u seen that card?? More likely fightpass headliner or lower, despite being a very good fight. Could co-headline tonights card and the next 2 FNs

Yeah you're right. After looking at the card no way this is prelim headliner lol

nice fight. tough to pick, haven't seen much of durinho lately. missed his last fight.

He's been knocking dudes dead. Which is cool and all, but I don't want to see him become the outstanding grappler that falls in love with their knockout power. That never ends well.

true. if i had to pick i would go with hooker. he has really impressesd me in his last few fights.

that's a good fight. winner should be on the cusp of the top 15.

Excellent, this is a great fight, i really cant tell who will win, both are getting better every time i see them so its hard to pick. I think Burns can hang with Hooker in the standup to a degree, but i dont know if i can say the same for Hooker, Gilbert is a very good BJJ fighter.
