Dan hooker looked like a middleweight in there

Reported for beating up your nephew, don't be a bully.

He used to fight at Featherweight if I member correctly.

I had that thought too. Dude looked shredded, yet his upper body still had a lot of fullness to it.

Crazy that he was a fw

Dude is huge, but Al needs to move down or bulk up, dude keeps getting tooled by bigger men.

He is big for a Lightweight, but after the absolute shit kicking he took from Barboza, i don't mind. I feel like he prepaid the Piper.

Al is not that small, he just needs to get better coaching and learn to close distance. Also needs to learn how to deal with Muay Thai specialists as well

Welcome to the era of extreme weight cuts. It started about a decade ago. I have no reason to believe that Hooker is an extreme outlier.

We know fight night weights for 4 events. I don't 'UFC Fight Night: de Randamie vs. Ladd' at my fingertips. But in the other 3 events (UFC 227, 232, 241) there were only two LW fights, and one was Penn v Hall which had virtually no weight cutting. Here's the other:

Drakkar Klose (155.5 to 175.2 = 12.7%) def. Christos Giagos (155 to 176.2 = 13.7%)

Rumor has it that Felder cuts from 180 or 185; we have no evidence of that other than him mentioning it. And that could be the "in between camps" ballooned weight, not the delta between weigh-in and fight not. And of course we have no idea what Hooker cuts. But here's a (bad and meaningless) picture of them together. A better pic might be two pics; one of Felder & Barboza and the other Barboza & Hooker. I'll let someone else do that work :)

TLDR: we have no reason to believe Hooker is an extreme outlier.
