Media Dan Hooker gets a new tattoo

Tattoos are ugly as fuck, seems like every person resorts to gettibg their body covered in this ugly crap, i respect people who are clean and untainted.

Are you a “pure blood” old wise one?

Yea .. its a well done tattoo for sure...

Just not sure why there and into the neck..

But its his body ... Whatever..

Yeah, never been a big fan of any tattoos myself, but there are some brilliant pieces out there. They’re just too few and far between

This guys work is pretty good and he’s created a unique style

I think someone else has hinted that Dan maybe looking to get a full chest piece with with this being the centre piece, I think it could look okay like that

Where do tattoo snobs rank on the snob list?

Admittedly I have 0 tats, and I don't really know what is good or bad in the world of tats, but I've NEVER seen a tattoo posted on any venue of social media where there isn't a plethora of people saying how awful it is and how much they hate it. They far outshine the IPA beer hipsters.

I always thought a tattoo roughly like this, or with this idea as the concept would be neat. But then I know I'd have an IG comment with 37,000 upvotes that it was trash and they'd never have that tattoo if they got 72 new virgins a day.

It honestly depends.

On one side, you have Instagram posts of tattoos that have been so heavily edited that the majority of people who aren't into tattoos think that anything that looks less than a heavily doctored photo is considered bad. On the other side, you'll have tattoos that are pretty bad, done by newer artists that will be bombarded with equally negative comments blurring the lines of what is actually bad, good and great.

The tattoo you posted could be better. General advice would be to find good artists and compare their work with artists near you. Mike Rubendall, DJ Tambe, Nikko
Hurtado to only name a select few are great tattoo artists. Not all tattoo artists can do what they do but I think it's a great reference point.

yeah it didn't seem like a high dollar tattoo, but the concept/idea I thought was cool

I know someone with some really high quality tattoos that seem really nice, but then everyone else just seems run of the mill but always talk about everyone else's like they're awful lol

Yeah. I blame the show Ink Masters. That show was so incredibly unrealistic at times on how they critiqued tattoos that it bred a new wave of online profession. Keyboard tattoo artists.

You look at tattoos with the mindset of looking for a mistakes and you're bound to find them.

The skull looks well done but the weapons look like shit almost like they were done at different times by different people. As if an artist did the skull then had his apprentice do the weapons.
