Henderson looked pretty slim last night, and it was mentioned on the commentary how small he's gotten relative to an average middleweight. How would he fare against welterweight competition?

It took the guy getting rag dolled by DC to get him to move down to MW. There is no way he'd go to WW, especially at this age.

You think it's a good idea for 45 year old legend who fought at LHW and MW his entire career to cut 15 more lbs for his final couple of fights?

Because he "looked small"?

Yep. Didn't hurt a battle-torn Robbie Lawler to go down to 170 after a long run at 185.

And age isn't as big of a factor as it's being made out to be. Couture was cutting from 225 down to 205 at age 42. Henderson seems to be slimming down naturally as it is, and he's only 5'11".

Hendo vs Hendricks for a #1 contender fight...wonder if Hendricks chin could take that H bomb

Robbie is 12 years younger than Hendo...

Look, I can see that you think this is a brilliant move, but it's really not.

Hendo vs Hendricks: battle of the H-bombs

I'd take Hendo by KO or Hendricks by UD. I dunno if Hendo could catch Hendricks, but if it goes more than 2 rounds Hendricks wins by cardio.

let's look at it this way, from 1994-2000 hendo competed internationall at 82 KG or more. that's 187 lbs. if he wasn't competing at 170 in his 20s there's no way that's happening in his 40s. he doesn't have a lot of weight to lose and can't lose that much water to cut. it's not reasonable to consider.

Robbie is smaller than Hendo. And Robbie is significantly younger than Hendo.

Stop pretending like you know anything about cutting weight. It isn't easy and it's brutal for older fighters.

People on these boards act like they actually have an idea about this shit.

robbie started out at 170. has hendo ever competed there as an adult in wrestling or mma? i doubt it.

I'd take some time and give this a tad more thought.

It's not far fetched. As we age we tend to get smaller. On that note, Hendo at 170/WW at age 50. He'll retire at age 51.

Hendo could make 170 easy; it's probably the natural weight-class (post-cut) for a man his size.

Face it, against fighters like Condit, Hendricks, Lawler and Woodley he wouldn't even be the bigger man.

He has said many times he hates cutting weight so it's not happening.
