Shit was brutal. 11 chair shots with the last one to the back of his skull knocking him out. This guy will probably end up with more CTE than any ufc fighter. Supposedly the Rock went overboard even though he was told that’s enough.

Mick Foley could take a bump

I thought the rock wanted to stop but mick foley kept saying “harder you pu$$y”

Razor Ramon back in the day would deliver some seriously sketchy razor edges. You know those fella’s necks where in some pain. Why they all got addicted to pain killers. Rip Scott Hall.

All the stories around pro wrestling are fake, even the ones that are supposedly "real"

So for instance, Hulk Hogan claiming he ripped all the muscles in his back when he lifted andre the giant, or Foley and the undertaker saying the cell wasn't supposed to break and have Foley fall through it, to Foley saying the rock wasn't supposed to go crazy and hit him this many times... All bullshit.

These guys get so used to telling tales for a living that they don't know when to turn it off.

I knew the Benoit murder suicide was staged!

No he said nothing, he was supposed to drop down but must’ve been concussed.

Thanks. I’m all mixed up. I do remember the time Angle tossed Shane but the window didn’t break, and Angle didn’t want to throw him again but Shane called angle a coward or something lol anything for the business

Nah this was one of the legit moments. They had agreed on a few shots but the rock ended up going too far. He clearly wasn’t supposed to hit him in the back of the head either. He was knocked out from the last one.

I think one of the biggest mistakes wrestling made was devaluing all moves. Back in the 80s you could still finish someone with a belly to belly suplex or a crossbody. In the 90s you could throw someone off of a cage and still continue the match. Today, you hit someone with four finishers at an inconsequential event and have them still kick out. It makes the whole thing meaningless.

RW had no chill and really fucked up their oppenents.

that 50lb arm slapping you in the chest must have felt like baseball bat.

The second bump in the hell in the cell with Mankind and Undertaker wasn't planned. Foley was supposed to get choke slammed but not come crashing through the mesh of the ceiling. If that were a planned bump, Undertaker would have made sure not to have a steel chair next to him, because between the chair and those old school rings having like zero give; that should have either paralyzed or straight up killed Foley.

The 11 chair shots at Rumble 99 is pretty well documented. Mick was supposed to take I think 3 or 4 chair shots? But he took like 3 in the ring and the finish was supposed to be near the Rumble ramp entrance. Then Rock got a little crazy with the chair shots and Mick even said he started becoming the Mankind character in the worst possible way and things just got way out of control. Funny thing is, I can't imagine that finish/angle being as impactful if Foley didn't take the 11 chair shots. It was still overkill and that match definitely helped shorten his career.

The foley fall was real. Remember this is WWE, a company that cheaped out so much on a stunt that someone fell from the top of an arena and died. The guy's tooth was sticking out of his nose. They ended the match almost immediately after that. A main event level match is scheduled to go longer than 5 minutes. It is not at all unbelievable that they did a shit job building the cell.
