He really impressed me tonight.

That round was a war, and Eddie was honestly doing an amazing job and text book veteran level bobbing, weaving, trying to weather the storm

The storm just never stopped. Its really rare you see such power in combinations and knees later into an already grueling fight. You could tell Eddie couldnt believe it either

He brings a really cool style to this LW title picture

Hes not the unorthadox giant LW Tony is, or the elite wrestler Khabib is, and he doesnt got the crazy power of Conor

But hes tough as shit, and well rounded enough to not get finished and give Khabib a hell of a problem later in the fight

I dont think Conor really has that ability. Hes got a great chance of an early KO.. But hes not throwing KO shots in the 4th round

He kneed Eddies eye out the back of his head in the 2nd.

Didn't the fight end in the 2nd or did I watch a different fight?

Crazy to think how easily Conor dismantled him

Conor was still early in his career as well and still starched the Diamond

He still get smoked by MJ every fight...too slow

Just watched it, fucking awesome fight.

Not just the barrage of punches, but several guillotines that he went after hard.

Poirier is a fucking machine. He's peaking. I hope he can get a shot.

If michael doesn't land that left in the first, Michaels the one who will get smoked.

Edit: Sorry, meant to quote the Idiot, not you.

you could say the reverse as well.

although I don't think a rematch would go much differently in that particular case, Poirier looks like the kind of fighter who needs to set his shots up at his own pace. I think conor's pressure gets him every time.

the rematch I want to see is conor / holloway - that would be an entirely different fight the 2nd time out.

I agree, Max has improved leaps and bounds. He could Nate Diaz Conor by outpacing Conor over 5 rounds. Or Conor could catch him earlier this time.

How is it crazy to think he was starched 10lbs lighter and damn near 10 fights ago?
Dustin has improved since moving up as well as just polishing up as a great fighter..
I see what your doing though, trying to keep someone relivent who doesn't even fight anymore.

No problem, congrats on your boy getting the win btw. Poirer always brings it and has crisp boxing, he looked great in there tonight.

Dustin committed fully to two guillotine chokes which will really burn your arms out. He also took some hard body shots and was full mounted by a good wrestler.

Yeah he showed good cardio.
