They had a smash single 'Gangsta Lean' with potential as the next up and coming rap group. But signing with the wrong label apparently was their downfall.
The group started out with the option of signing with Eazy-E, Suge Knight, or MC Hammer. They decided to go with the non-gangster – Hammer, but Lubin explained that Hammer turned out to be a gangster of sorts himself, sometimes not paying the group.
“And when MC Hammer went bankrupt, it kind of threw my group into disarray. After that happened, we were stuck on the label and we were really not doing anything. I got frustrated, then I went to Japan for a year. I came back and felt like maybe the music industry was not for me and so I got a job working for the phone company. But the love of music was always in me.”
