Cyborg thinks she made the 450k PPV buys fighting Holm

Casuals didn't care that much about Khabib vs Barboza going in. They cared more for the fight that was actually heavily promoted, which was Cyborg vs Holm. Deal with it.

I bought it for the Khabib vs Barboza fight.
They should put an option for PPV buyers to select fighters you are interested in so the top billing doesn't take all the credit.
 
It had very little to do with barboza and khabib. It was a quarter holm, a quarter cyborg and half the fact it was the end of year card.
 
people like Holly holm. holly in a championship fight against an ugly "mannish" woman sold way more than khabib did in PPV territories. where khabib is popular there are no PPV.

1. it is a title fight
2. khabib missed weight on his last card
3. afraid to promote khabib because he pulled out
4. it was not even a interim title fight
5. only conor would make it to the main event without any belt on the line.

but in fact khabib vs barboza was the most competive fight in terms of martial arts and people talked much more about this fight bevore and after the event.
in rogans podcast they everytime talking about khabib than about cyborg or hollm. cyborg and hollm are almost forgotten. in this forum u will find more khabib threads than any hollm or cyborg thread.
 
It was both, however I believe (and I could be off) that Cyborg does ratings, Holm also helps. Cyborg def pulls more then almost any other WMMA star at this point.
 
Not sure if that card would've done 100k without the Khabib/Barboza co-main.

The 450k number comes from an article that said "it likely did between 400-500k because Cyborg wouldn't tweet it was the 3rd highest grossing PPV if it only did over 300k." Not from anyone's estimates, not from any official numbers, but from an article that was guessing based off of a Cyborg tweet.

The only problem there was to be the 3rd highest grossing PPV it only had to do over 300k, like the article admitted, and the assumption that she wouldn't tweet that "unless it did 450k" is one of the stupidest assumptions ever made.

Complete bullshit. There's no legit indication anywhere that this card did 450k. The most official #s we had put it closer to 350k.

I'd say Holm & Cyborg definitely brought in much more eyes than Khabib vs Barbosa.
I actually think Holm was probably the biggest draw on the card.
