Cyborg making 135lb debut in December.

No it shouldn't have been.

Cyborg hasn't fought MMA since July, 2013 and she's never fought at 135, her record is also littered with cans. She doesn't deserve a title shot at all.

Have to agree with this. For all the hate Rousey gets and all the love anyone she is/might be fighting gets. Cyborg hasn't fought in a year, never at 135, has barely beat anyone worth mentioning and isn't a big name.

You seem scared that your favorite female idol will lose? Do you have her action figures in your room?

You would rather have her fight Bethe?

one could as well ask if you are scared Cyborg will lose a tune up fight. It's a new weight class for her.

Gina on the other hand was the face of women's MMA, and is a legitimate draw. You are the kind of person to bitch about Nick Diaz getting a title shot after losing to Carlos Condit, and then it turns out to be the highest PPV draw of the year.

No one besides hardcore MMA fans cares about Cyborg. If anything she will probably be an anti-draw as people are put off my her manliness. To the casual WMMA fan, sex sells, and the only thing Cyborg brings is some hardcore fans who won't move the needle.

Rhonda is the draw, if Cyborg was worth any money she would have been picked up by a promotion instead of looking for anything resembling a meaningful fight.

Im not a fan of Cyborg, i believe all she does its because of the steroids and she would lose to Ronda. But Cyborg fighting Ronda for the belt is a insane PPV draw

Yes, but Liz Carmouche, Sara mcsomething and Alexis Davis are huge draws and legimate contenders.

I could care less if she's ready, as I don't follow womens MMA, except for a few title fights here and there. This is something that would sell if it's promoted properly. You seem scared that your favorite female idol will lose? Do you have her action figures in your room?

Why would anyone be scared of that? Cyborg ain't beating Ronda. I agree with bubkujones though. We need to see if Cyborg can make weight. She's struggled to in the past, and popped hot for weight cutting steroid making 145

While I agree she should have to take a fight before a title shot, I would like to point out that if Cyborg isn't a big name, who is? Carano? She has been out of it for years. Cupcake? Ronda beat her easily... twice. You know what they should do... Beth Correia vs. Cyborg... aww, screw it, I wanna see Ronda beat Correia too. There are no "big names" in wmma still besides Ronda and Meisha. And don't tell me Zingano, McMann or Holly Holm are big names outside of the hardcore fan club because I will hardcore politely disagree with you!

They were legitimate contenders, yes. By being ranked at the weight class. I believe McMann and Davis were ranked respectively #2 and #3, not counting Zingano who was injured.

Cyborg isn't ranked at all.

I think Cyborg is going to lose everything that made her special at 135. She looked like a man fighting girls before. Now, she's just going to look small but ripped. Her power and energy will probably be sapped. She's still a good striker but the size will hurt her.

Should have been a straight title shot..especially at the end of the year...they could have promoted the hell out of it.

Nah not when she has never made the weight. I think she should have the fight in December and then another fight in the UFC against a top contender like a McMann. A lot of casuals dont know who she is so if they put her on a big show like a Fox card then it would help to build a fight with Rhonda.

Who is Cyborg going to fight? The only name that comes to mind is Tonya Evinger. Unless the UFC plans to send one of their roster fighters back to Invicta to fight Cyborg.

And Honda record isn't full of cans too? Lol.

I thought this would be the plan for her. If she makes weight safely, wins (I assume she'll be fighting Nakamoto, Evinger or Aldana) and everything comes back clean, she should be next in line after Zingano (if she beats Nunes) for a UFC title shot. This should satisfy both sides of the ongoing Rousey/Cyborg argument :)

At 35 I suspect that would be a highly competitive fight and if the cut goes bad or the new class fucks with Cris' in fight psychology then Tonya might eat her up (no lesbian jokes plz)

Cyborg/Nakamoto at 135 is a dream fight. Not sure how close Nakamoto is to returning from the knee injury.

Welcome to Women's mixed martial arts. Now Tits or GTFO.

The reality is we're really splitting hairs here considering this post listed the only three marketable names in women's MMA that don't require a bikini photo shoot to draw in fans.
