Cyberpunk vs. Steampunk... which theme do you prefer?

If you were given two options... you had to live in a Cyberpunk setting or a Cyberpunk setting... you have to choose one or the other.

Steampunk is more my style, a~la bits of Final Fantasy 6.

Cyberpunk looks cool but it probably also smells like hot garbage and piss all the time.

I love history and antiques, I liked Steampunk before it was cool. To bad the fucking cosplay scene completely smothered it in their crusty backfat. I would probably be more in to it, but I can feel my neck beard growing when I'm around it too long.

Meanwhile Cyberpunk is cool as hell, Steampunk has Wild Wild West while Cyberpunk has Akira and Bladerunner. I will go with Steampunk any day, but Cyberpunk is awesome too and more guilt free. It's like apples and oranges really.

I'll have to cast my lot for Cyberpunk but it would probably be nice to switch sides and see the sun every once in a while.

How do you do that?

Make a second post immediately and then edit it when you're prepared.

When I make these threads, I prepare all my posts before submitting the first one and drop them as fast as I can.

I also edit my images so I can fit everything in one post.

Instead of ten small images, I combine them into five larger ones.

The time has passed.

Too much of the foundation of cyberpunk has already been explored to death in other science fiction genres.

I still want the Ridley Scott Neuromancer movie I was promised in 1990, however.
