I've been going back and forth but I think I'm gonna start with Corpo. That one sounds the most interesting to me.

I feel like they should have planned on making this a PS5/SeriesX release to begin with. I've always thought it was strange that they were rushing to get it out on the PS4/XB1.

I imagine had this been a next-gen game (only) it would have been way better. Better graphics. Better load times. Better gameplay. More options for them as creators. Less restrictions overall. More time to create. Etc. I can't help but shake my head that it's coming out this gen.

Contracts maybe? I'm not super privy to their inner workings but I bet they are in someway contractually obligated to deliver another PS4/XB1 gen game.

I just think they got super ambitious and the CPU's in the PS4/XB1 are struggling. Easy to scale back graphics for the GPU's, not so easy to scale back gameplay/physics for the CPU's without fundamentally altering/downgrading gameplay.

I'd hate to be working for CDPR right now lol....

This is what bums me out. I don't want to see anything scaled back or any corners cut. I don't know why they can't just keep the game on it's maximum setting and press that to PS5 discs, and then downgrade the rest of it for PS4. I hope they don't end up downgrading everything just to make it work for this gen, and fucking over the next gen releases.

I'd rather they just cancelled this gen's release altogether. I wasn't planning on buying a PS5 for at least 6 months after release, but I'd be willing to step it up if they push the game to next-gen only.

But certainly they're not gonna do that. There'd be a shitstorm the likes of which they've never seen before.

They're attempting a lot they haven't done before all in this one game. Modern settings, gun mechanics, driving mechanics. And with GOTY ambitions no less.
 
The older consoles are getting the blame but why don't they have the next-gen versions ready? All they said was sometime next year..
 
I could be wrong about this but wasn't this game supposed to have multiplayer in it as well which was cut but will be turned into it's own unannounced game with the same setting?

Half right.

It was originally supposed be just a regular single-player RPG, but as they experimented with different ideas they realized making it multiplayer is a project worth pursuing.... just not with their current project.

So, single player RPG now, MMO later.
