I hope they include lots of different areas. And big areas. I was amazed when I found out that all of Skellige was in Witcher 3.



Geographically the city is in northern California, so going south there can be cactus, and going north there could be forest.

if it’s a barren setting then ya that sounds boring but something like a Tijuana or have some urban ghettos within the desert would be interesting. I just don’t want to see minimal filler

I'd be very surprised if CDPR half assed it. They built up so much goodwill with fleshing out Witcher 3.

Kinda short sighted to not make this a PS5/Series X game imo, which launch 2 months after this game is scheduled to come out.

Imagine how much more they could have done with the new CPU's.

You can upscale graphics but you can't upscale gameplay. The games simulation will be bound by the 1.6ghz Jaguar cores of the ps4.

Nah, it's gonna be huge. Then in a couple years once the devs have more experience working with the PS5 they can do the "enhanced" edition, which will move several more million copies.

Is this going to be available for ps5 at launch? If so, will definitely wait to pick it up for that rather than picking it up for PS4 so soon before the ps5 launches.

I'm in the same boat. I have zero interest in a desert setting, so hopefully our dealings there are limited, or better yet, optional. It might be nice to change up the gameplay/environment though

I have a lot of faith in CDPR , so I'm sure it won't be a detriment.

What have we had in that respect outside Fallout 3/4/New Vegas?

Take away the RPG/Immersive sim element, and there are still few open world sci-fi games.

Red Faction Guerilla (awesome), Mad Max (decent) Crackdown (meh).

There are some hub/partially open world games like Metro Exodus and Outer Worlds, both pretty good, but not much else, and certainly not complex.

Honestly stopped caring a long time ago. Cancelled my preorder more than once. I'm sure the game will be good at worst and maybe much better but between the delays and the gameplay they've shown I'm just not that interested. I'll likely play it eventually but I'm in no rush
