Would a jump up in weight help his durability problems? His body might just be too far gone at this point for anything he tries to really make a difference. Maybe I'm wrong tho
I thought he would be introspective enough to see his skill set isn't a hell of a lot better than a gracie, and its going to keep getting him hurt like kron.Ortega fights are uncomfortable to watch. He's made a career out of looking terrible at weight ins then going onto getting badly outboxed and beat to shit. Whether its the UFC keeping him light or his own decision really doesn't change that he should hang em up or his brains are going to be mush.
Thats what i mean. He not only peaked, other guys camps know how to straight fuck him up.I don't think you are wrong. His stand up is terrible and I don't think he has enough skill to be viable at Lightweight. I think it's okay to admit that he's reach his peak in MMA. He got close one time against Volkanovski to becoming champion but was ultimately a jiu jitsu guy with terrible striking and terrible striking defense.
His come up was fun as hell but how it's going was always fairly predictable. I mean, even during his run practically every fight was him getting his ass kicked until he found a crazy finish out of nowhere. That sure is fun to watch but it's a tough row to hoe in the long run.I like Brian and don't want to see him get cut, but he's starting to show possible signs of CTE. Maybe a fight or two at 155 with someone like Paddy or Dariush then ride off into the sunset while your brain is still functioning.
