Cryptocurrency megathread V2 - Gas Fees Galore

Just found about a coin called Hoge. The price is $0.00000727.

$100 = 13,755,158.18 coins

If this gets to even $0.10 that's 1.3 million.

I know you're being tongue-in-cheek... It'd need to get close to a billion market cap to reach 0.1. You might as well take a $0.01 coin and hope it gets to $10,000

That was the result of my research.

What do you guys think about IOTA feeless smart contracts? Will it remain feeless in the future?

To me it's a moonbagger. I haven't seen enough cause to think it'll be implemented across enough platforms yet... but that is yet and this is all still just starting out.

Trying to pick from this is like trying to pick which mom-pop grocery store in the 40s-50s will become the Vons/Albertons. Investing in more than a handful will at least give you a chance of gains while they maneuver to see who are the big dogs. But 95% of all these coins will likely vanish or find highly-limited niches. It's also wholly possible 100% of what exists now will not exist in 2035, and we'll have a whole different crop that actually takes over and thrives for generations.

IOTA is a super cool tech, wish I got in when my sister did. She’s kept hers since the 18 crash. Lots of great discussion on feeless chains. I believe for now, they’re more of a pipe dream. You need to provide incentives for those who work to keep your chain decentralized.

I don't know about you lot... but all this normie sentiment and greed is making me bearish..

I consider some of you guys normies too, sorry

Oh great, NOW you’re bearish!
Seeing too much hype everywhere, greed, normies asking how to buy something
that includes some people here too
, reading stories from fellow marines; how their normie friends are angry that they didn't buy when they were shilled. Twitter getting full of e-thots posting about crypto, bitcoin appearing on the homepages of mainstream news, cryptocurrency at an all time high on google trends. All indication that the local top is in. I'm hoping this will blow off fast, once we're down to 36k. Absolute nightmare scenario for people that are longing would be a dump down to below 10k. Would be a golden opportunity.

I'm also listening to the cure right now, and getting sick of watching this price action. Garbage vaporware have been pumping, while projects that have utility and fundamentals have been slowly bleeding. Take it for what it is.

I've deleveraged down.

I’m just kidding. I’m definitely new to the game. I doubt that everything would go to zero for me anyway.

How long have you been in crypto?

How long have you been in crypto?
2017. Did well during the bear market though with Chainlink thankfully.

Edit; I was largely broke and had 0 idea about bitcoin and crypto before, self educated in the subject now. Hence why I don't believe in diversifying too much. Once you've identified the winners, it's too risky to gamble on lowcap shitcoins.

I got in then too.

Diversifying is sound strategy though. Unforeseen events can happen to anything. Putting all your eggs in one basket is far more risky.

He new about it back when it was the original members. Now he's into real cool shit you've probably never hear of :p

Anyone in it since before 2017 wouldn't be on here because they'd either be in the rich house or the poor house. Even the "long hodls" are so very green because this sector is in its early stages. The best advice that can be given has been sprinkled throughout here already. Anyone new to it would do well to hear all sides of what's been said, do homework on why certain tech matters and others don't, and then work in slowly into investments as you learn the tides and turns of the space.

As I've noted before, I came in way faster than I wanted to for various expat and tax reasons. But even with a need to move a little quick, I had already done about a year of homework and small-time positions to get a feel. And unless you're a fearless day-trader, best thing to do is plop some positions and forget about the money for 3 years. See what happens. If you picked the right place to set a moonbag, you'll be happy. Or, conversely, you can park $25k into USDC or equivalent into an earn app, park another $2k each year and have close to half a mil in a decade (if the system stays up and operating).

Let me put it like this, if I had enough money I would diversify in to LINK (largest position), GRT, AVAX, ETH, and [redacted] (not willing to share information on that yet.)

Edit: The pattern I tend to follow is smart contracts, academic scientists, and those that work together with Chainlink. [redacted], GRT, and AVAX have close ties to Chainlink for example. And AVAX is lead by Emin Gün Sirer. Ethereum is also great given that almost all DeFi protocols runs on it. GRT will help index them all, Chainlink will power it all, and [redacted] will be good for institutions.

Yes, I've been in since 2017 and done well. If you can find the crypto thread in 2017 here, I've posted several times in that thread.

Nice. What are your holdings?
