Cruz said some stuff

BW was pretty exciting while Barao was champion.

Such is the case with MOST of the lighter weight classes. McG is the one who REALLY brought in casuals to 145 and above, due to his flamboyance and crazy tactics.

It may take such a persona to truly get widespread recognition to the lighter classes.

I disagree the dude talks shit. And is on fox all the time.He is probably better for the division then tj or barao were

I felt the division was FAR more exciting while he was gone. Maybe it's just me.

I kinda thought it was peaking right after Dilly-Barao 1, since Cruz won the title back it's gone quiet again.

Cruz was not popular before his injury woes and redemption story.

His Fox analyst stint, brutal comeback against Mizugaki, and returning to the throne have turned things around and brought some more interest to the division. Barao's reign which looked it was on its way to being a dominant one and Dillashaw's big upset win were drawing eyes in Cruz's absence though.

The division is currently better than it ever was but it's not because of Cruz.

It's because of guys like Almeida, Garbrandt, Sterling, Font, etc that are making the division fun.

People are gonna start wishing he'd go away again once they start remembering why he was called "the Decisionater."

The division was more excited because we had Barão who looked like a world beater, Faber looking good, Dillashaw rising, Assunção before injuries...Not because Dominick wasn`t there. For me he is one of the most exciting fighters in the world, he is one of those that i personally analyze for hours trying to "imitate" in the gym. A masterpiece to watch in the octagon.
If he continues to win world titles, imo he will be TOP 5 GOAT.

White secretly wanted Dillasnake to win so he could set him up to fight Faber. The bad blood story of two bros turned enemies would have been good press.

Cruz and Dillashaw, both insufferable cunts.

If you didn't care about the 135 division at any point since it's been in the UFC? I honestly don't know why you watch MMA. 135 has some of the most talented and exciting fighters in the sport.

yup, even before that, the WEC Miguel Torres era was exciting. it was also deeper back then due to not 125 lb div. yet

I thought the division was much more exciting when Barao and TJ were champs... not a knock on Cruz, I just think the fights have been better and the competition is increasing. Not sure where he's going with that nonsense.

Garbrandt, Almeida, Sterling, Caraway, Assuncao, Faber, Lineker. Lots to like.

No one cared about the weight class when he was around. It actually got more exciting to me when TJ bear Barao. Respect to Dom and his skills but his fights are very boring.
He's fought 4 times so far in the UFC. 2 FOTN's and one POTN in 4 outings... He isn't boring.

Basically he was saying no one cared about the weightclass while he was gone. Personally I don't think Dom is the guy that will bring the attention to the bw division.
Maybe not for the casual fan, but MMA and striking connoisseurs and experts will find his fights very interesting to watch and analyze. He's a very hard puzzle for anyone to solve. Too bad he gets injured so much... :/
