Cruz doesn't deserve a title shot. TJ/DJ only fight to make

Why isn't DJ calling out TJ?

It’s no one’s responsibility to call out a champ from a higher division. It’s pretty cool when someone does it, but it’s not a mark against them if they don’t.

If you think that it is, then it’s obviously a mark against Dillashaw, and suddenly you have no point.

Do I wish DJ would challenge TJ for the BW belt? Yes.

Do I understand why he’s focused on just defending his own belt? Yes.

Do I wish more champs would focus on that? Yes.

Is it better for the sport than holding up two divisions? Yes.

At the same time, It’s fucking ridiculously lame to call out the champ of a lower division—especially when you have legitimate contenders in your own division. There’s literally nothing TJ can prove by going down and beating DJ—which I doubt he’d do, anyway.

MM division

TJ division

Too much talking

Not enough fighting

Fuck these guys till they book a fight and fight 2 or 3 times a year.

Nobody would give a fuck if they went up or down in weight class if they were PROLIFIC and fought often...

But they don't

Fuck them... Until they do.... Than I will love them all

No. I don't agree. TJ has some guys to beat at 135. The division is stacked with contenders, and he is holding up the line trying to beat a smaller champ.

If TJ gave up his 135 title to pursue the DJ fight, then I would have a different opinion. I don't support champs holding up divisions just to pursue a specific fight.

Fight the guys in your division first, and let a smaller champion come up or you move up to a bigger division.
Ain't you going a little too fast on your conclusions? I mean, if TJ beats MM and then leave his division (or defend both if he can, as long as he don't McGregor his divisions), would you be ok with it?

You're worried for something that didn't even happen thus far. He is the champ and he's interested in fighting other champ in a weaker/easier division, as long as he doesn't pull either a McGregor or a StPierre on us I'm fine with it. He just has no interest of simply forfeiting his own belt in exchange for a lame chance on beating DJ, nobody would be interested in doing that, that is obvious, crystal clear.

Now the curious part: What about DJ? Will we keep watching him fight rematches against nobodies just because he's somehow prohibited to move up and fight Dillashaw? And if Dillashaw loses after 4 defenses (which is very possible), will we have to wait for the new champion to clean 135 and then we'll let DJ finally move up? That's pretty stupid..

Let me tel ya: If TJ moves down (possibility) and beats DJ (possibility) and become champ in two divisions (possibility) without losing either of then in the next 2 years or so (very unlikely possibility) and starts delaying one or even both of them (possibility) way too much (variable possibility) I'll be the first one to complain, who doesn't love to complain? lol

Relax, man, just give it time, let's see what happens, there are good possible outcomes as well as bad possible outcomes on this paradigm.

TJ has done nothing at FLW to warrant a shot at MM. He needs to win some big fights like Borg etc did. And MM needs to be making 7 figures for that fight because it will easily sell over 150,000 PPVs.

This. I've said this so many times and then they go silent. Just one fight at 125 is all he asked.

I wouldn't say Cruz doesn't deserve a titleshot, but DJ vs. TJ is obviously the fight to make at the moment.

But one guy don't want none.

Neither Cruz nor Cody deserve a title shot. I'd like to see the DJ fight, but the rational fight to make based on results would be Rivera or Assunção III

What’s wrong with Rivera fighting for the title?
I think he deserves it.

Why isn't DJ calling out TJ?
Johnson called out Cruz back in 2016 when he was the champion, for the same price he's asking for now, but people conveniently forget that little fact because they're looking for any reason at all to hate on him.

lol. TJ defended his belt 2 times and then got robbed.

Go check TJs record, dimwit. You denying simple facts makes you reek of blatant favouritism. Nobody cares what YOU thought about the fight. TJ didn't defend his title a single time since winning it from Cody. You may be living in a dreamworld and staning hard for TJ, but the rest of us don't care about that. There's no reason to further discuss this topic and indulge your spinning of the truth with you as long as you are disputing universally accepted facts.

You know that MM is injured atm, right? In your book TJ should skip defending his own belt and stay on the sidelines while waiting for MM to heal up, right?

By the way, I don't blame TJ for trying to maximize his profit while minimizing his risk (= not putting his own title on the line against fighters he lost to). I blame you for acting like it's the right thing to do while simultaneously shitting on legends like Dom and DJ. Again, go fuck yourself.

Cruz doesn't deserve it. We all know what happened during his "win" of his title back.
Then, he avoided any Top 5 BM, two times, and got wrecked by the #8 contender.

He never ever mentioned TJ name after getting back the belt, and he wasn't even planning to fight him after a potential Cody win.
I used to be a Cruz fan, but after his behavior towards TJ, I thought it was nothing but disrespectful, and that he deserves that the next champion would do the same towards him.

Cruz and Cody should have their hands full with Moraes/Lineker/Rivera/Assuncao.
How does TJ deserve a shot at FW?

Cody doesn't deserve rematch, scrap the Moraes fight & let one of those guys fight tj for the title and the other fight Cody for #1 contendor if you aren't going to go with Might mouse vs TJ.

No so called champ-champ has been able to defend both belts consecutively. TJ is not going to be an exception. The guy needs like 6 or more months to get down to 125.

I am not worried. I am just exchanging opinions on a message board. I fully understand and accept that the UFC is going to UFC.

Again, no champ-champ has been able to defend both consecutively. TJ is not going to be the first. He is doing a drastic weight-cut to get down to 125.

I am perfectly calm and relaxed. Past behavior is the best predictor of future behavior. This champ-champ era is just the UFC double dipping on the power of its "promotional tool" the UFC belt. I am ok with it. I have never paid for a UFC product, so it doesn't bother me. I am just bantering on a message board.

I don't take this shit seriously.

I dont think TJ deserves a title fight either, scrap the useless BW division, nobody cares, TJ can go fight at FLW and the rest can work at Disney Land as fill ins for the 7 dwarves.

Your legend Dom just got destroyed by a #8 contender that got KTFO by TJ. When was the last time TJ got tools in the octagon?
Yes Dom deserves to be shit on the way he acted towards TJ.
You're a joke, you're mad about TJ trying to go fight MM which is one of the best P4P ever, but not about Cruz defending his belt against a dusty #7 Faber.

And hey Mr Einstein, if you were in TJ position, you would do exactly the same so shut the fuck up, you fucking hypocrite.

He's far more deserving then Cruz or Cody at the moment. Cruz hasn't fought since getting schooled by Cody, that was December 30, 2016. That's basically the same time since Conor last fought in MMA.

The people who don't wanna see this fight are not MMA fans. That's the simple answer to anyone saying this fight shouldn't happen.

Pretty sad.

{<jimmies}<{jackyeah}>{<jimmies}

Fuck no! If I were in TJs position I would defend my belt instead of calling out smaller (!!) and injured (!!) fighters for a superfight without ever having fought in their division. You didn't answer wether TJ should sit out and wait for DJ to be ready or defend his title. Are you scared of TJ defending and losing his own belt which is why you're pushing for fights outside of his own division? You're like the McGregor nuthuggers that are scared shitless of Khabib.

Start advocating for a title defense instead of holding up a division with legit contenders. Your boy is trying to pull a reverse Conor, but with the charisma of a doormat that's just not possible. Until then, again: Fuck you!
