Crossover Appreciation Thread

SOD is easily one of the top 5 pits I've ever been in. I wish Billy could just play nice with others.

Would have loved to catch these guys back in the day. I remember seeing a review and this picture in Metal Edge (or some similar crap rag that was all I could find at the time) and then picking the record up at the store. I wanted cassette but they didn't have that so vinyl it was. I couldn't believe the lyrics and had to play it for everyone. Kinda like when you first got a copy of W.A.S.P.'s Fuck Like A Beast.

Expected a tranny thread

Expected this to be about television/film/etc crossovers

I can't listen but i LIKE CoC. Is this bands that sound like them? If so, may be relevant to my interests.

no overkill?

obviously not THAT Overkill from NY.

Thanks Joe. That one's new to me. You think that fits the crossover (hardcore punk meets metal) tag? For awhile I was getting more of a Gothic vibe. :)

Here's a classic and then something from their follow up record. :icon_chee

they were an sst band so they played with punk bands and would also do metal shows in la. I first heard about them like on henry rollins show about ten years ago, i actually have this vinyl cause i remembered the name 9 years when i was in a record store and i had to pick it up. its a pretty decent album imo.

I'm not entirely sure what this is (Southern-fried dirt metal?). But it seems to cross boundaries and I like it so here we go. Plus they totally crushed some good bands at the Ottobar one night (including Baroness I believe).

crossovers r sic!!! creative and entertaining

This to me captures that mid-'80's convergence of punk and metal. So much so I offered to release the record. Fair warning!

It's my first attempt fucking with a Youtube channel so any advice is well-received. :)

Not sure why but Madball reminds me of M.O.D. Could be the NY thing. Could be that little Miret is in Madball and Milano junior-ized himself with this band. I still remember driving home from the record store with this cassette in the deck and me & my friend laughing our asses off.
