It's a pirate show on NBC with John Malkovich playing Blackbeard. Just watching the first episode now.

Tried watching it last night. I dozed off a couple of times. The scenes seems to be too repetitive. Kinda dull. Think I'm going to pass.

Edit: Just read this review from THR:

"There's no real good reason to watch "Crossbones" other than to figure out what John Malkovich is doing and to make it clear to yourself that "Black Sails" on Starz is a much better bet."

I doubt it gets the full season order.

seems like a fun lil show good acting the story is pretty intriguing the banter between malvochy and the other main guy is really fun

but visually it leaves alot to be desired actions scenes are pretty shit but to be fair i dont think its gonna be much of action type show the costume are weak malkvoichy looks like is running around pajamas also could it of hurt to give him some cool scars or something maybe some hair or a wicked beard fuck a fucking earing something

special effets there was this one bit were malkovhic has a hallusalation that was pretty cringe worthy as well

still i really want to know what happens next

I watched it tonight while I ate dinner. It was okay. It's good enough to watch but not something you can get into.

It's a bit cheesy and it looked pretty cheap. It looked they rounded up random people/j crew catalog model left overs and just put costumes on them that were in the movie studio prop rooms.

Fak! Forgot that started.

Black Sails is grittier and feelsmuch more real, but the pace killed it for me.

Crossbones is less gritty, but has a pace that keeps my attention. There was always something happening that made me stay in my seat to see what was next. Also the hanger at the end of the episode was good enough to make me want to know what happens next week. It would benefit from being on Showtime or even AMC for that matter. I'll stick with it for sure.
