Watched this tonight. It's a recent Agatha Christie adaptation that is currently streaming on Prime.
If you're not at all interested in Agatha Christie mysteries or period pieces in general then this probably won't be for you, but if you do like that sort of thing then this film scratches that itch fairly well.
It starts off a bit slowly and takes some time to really ramp up and find its groove, but overall I found it to be a pretty good Christie film. It's very talky, with lots of scenes with characters just sitting around having conversations. But excellent sets and settings, very good performances and a central mystery that slowly builds into something compelling make it an overall winner.
I actually read the book about a year ago. I find this adaptation to be generally faithful, though there are a few differences, one of which bothered me: The book is set in 1947. For some reason, with the movie they move everything forward a decade to the late-1950s. Why? Who knows. But I can tell you that rock n' roll in an Agatha Christie story just feels out of place.
Overall I'd probably give it a 6.5 or 7. Nothing groundbreaking, but like I said, if you tend to like Christie stories or even just British period dramas generally then you'll probably enjoy it.
