Multiplat Crimson Desert - 19th March 2026

Yah visually spectacular. Can't wait to see what the reviews are on this.

Been looking forward to this game since the first trailer. I was in their subreddit when it was like 100 people and half of them were saying it was a fake game. Glad to see this one is real and coming out. It's the first game I bought for my PC as I usually play on my PS5.

That said, I don't expect deep customization or RPG elements. I'm thinking this is going to be more akin to finding powerups in the world that supplement your abilities. You'll have armor and sword upgrades but I just don't see deep RPG progression. The main thing I'm worried about is it's going to be a huge Ubisoft style map where there is 100 things you have to go do and all of them are very similar. It's what set me off on Ghost of Yotei. I loved the majority of the game, but the quests just got so tiring I had to put it down. Really hoping for bosses and interesting action pieces.

I’m avoiding this until I know how the game actually runs on the PS5 Pro. To my knowledge we have zero console footage. That scares me. Last time we saw something like that was with Black Myth Wukong and that ended up running pretty poorly on PlayStation. I hope the engine they use is better than UE5. My other fear is it just feels like an offline MMORPG with grindy fetch quests considering the devs history with games. I’m not confident enough to preorder or buy on day one but I do like that this game is being ambitious by trying so many different things.

I've been following too. It looks incredible, but too good to be true, so I'm more skeptical than excited.

I like that they're using their own custom engine, so hopefully we don't get another UE5-like performance shitfest. They have a ton of experience from their MMO (Black Desert Online, so they have the talent to build a giant world that runs well. The combat in that game was excellent for an MMO, but I didn't play enough to see if the questing/writing was anything special later on. it was pretty typical MMO stuff for what I played. My performance was always great though, and I jumped in after their remaster.

Oh man I'm with you on Ghosts of Tsushima, I think I'm more than half way through but it's really becoming a slog. Some of the quests man like I'm trying to build an army for a rebellion but Im off spending hours finding this woman's kids dead bodies, or following my aunt around while she deals with her dementia. Im really trying to push through to force myself to finish lol

Yea, the whole thing got stale pretty fast. From following birds and foxes over and over again to the one liners used in every single camp. It just got annoying. I did like the bounties though. They should have had someone chasing you.

Final Feature Overview:

Jesus there’s almost too much it’s overwhelming. I’m kind of scared to play this because it will eat up all my time. A lot depends on how the performance turns out. I’m really hoping it delivers

I know its crazy. Right when you think you've seen it all, they hit you with even more cool stuff. I noticed they touched very little on questing which bugged me. But, there looks to be a lot to do regardless.

I like the house customization thing, but we only saw a chair being moved. Hopefully we can build walls/structures.

Regardless, I always like RPG's that let us build up the home base like Might and Magic, it doesn't have to be too elaborate.

No coverage of the quests/stories or leveling systems is a big red flag though. Hopefully its very modable.

Can one of you dawgs tell me with finality what genre or subgenre this title is? I'm always mixing messages in the regard and it's no small differentiator for me.

My main concern despite liking everything I'm seeing is it'll be death-by-thousand-cuts combat similar to 2025's Where Winds Meet, which I didn't like. I prefer weighted melee to melee by momentum.

That's the problem, does anyone even know lol??

I watched their 3 gameplay trailers, and I still don't have a clue.

If you ever played the MMO, it's even less weighty than Where Winds Meet (far older game though). Despite flashy movesets, It felt like I was constantly fighting the equivalent of those Humanity Phantoms in DS1 weight wise, basically swinging at air.

Like others have said, I'm getting GOT vibes here x10, with all the side things you can do. However, I don't see the purpose that drives you on, or the progression systems.

RDR2 was the biggest slog IMO, but like GOT it had great storytelling that could push you forward, or at least draw you back in after a break. I've been playing RDR2 off and on for 5+ years, still haven't finished it haha.

What a bizarre game this is. The promotion of it is right up there with No Man's Sky before launch. The more you learn about it, the less you know about key elements.

Yeah, I don't know about this one. The graphics look amazing, but given their MMO roots and their reluctance to show anything relating to the story or questing, I think this is gonna be a bit of a dungeon crawler, with a heavy emphasis on combat, build variety and crafting, but little in the way of story. A bit like Dragon's Dogma.

I liked Dragons Dogma 2 so I wouldn't mind that. My main issue right now is we still haven't seen console gameplay.
