What a trite, predictable thing to do. I would much rather see Drago have his own film, life after fall from grace.

This is cliche crap.

Name me a Rocky movie, after the first, that wasn't cliché as all hell. Hell, arguably even the first. This series isn't about some truly novel character making a dynamic and unexpected path through life, possibly exploring his gender fluidity in the New York subway system or some such post modern crap - it's about underdogs overcoming overwhelming challenges to reach feel good, and entirely predictable, ending points, with a bit of flag waving thrown in at times. It's cliché, it's entirely predictable, and it's awesome as all hell - leave the formula alone and go watch another movie if you want something else.

That's because Stallone wrote the script, trying to relive past glories.

They should leave this to Coogler, or failing that, another director/writer with a unique vision. I'm tired of seeing old man Stallone rehash his glory days.

Damn, if only there were some way you salty bastards could not see the movie and instead see other things, leaving it alone for the many who do want to see it. If only...

A young black fighter is destroying a heavy bag in a back of a hot dark dingy crowded underground gym, as he's killing the bag everyone begins stopping what they're doing to watch him go. Trainers, fighters, everyone. The trainer holding the bag is praising him as he goes in on the bag until he yells "Time!"

He pats him on the back and tells him he's going to be better than his old man.

The young fighter shrugs off the trainers pat. Slowly breathing and looking at the wall in front of him.

The trainer responds with "You're already nastier". He laughs and walks away.

The young fighter continues to look at the wall, still catching his breather before eventually walking away, revealing a picture on the wall in front of him showing Clubber Lang.

I think I love you man

Well if they are going to go this with sequels , why the hell not. One of the popular fantasy match ups in this movie series was Prime Creed vs Clubber , Slugger vs Boxer .

There's no modern black actor who can match the awesomeness of prime Mr. T so bringing in "his son" is bound to fail. I'd rather they not go there.

Though I would be down for Clubber himself making a cameo in this upcoming film as a commentator or something. Maybe have him interview Drago. I think I'd wet myself if that happened.

Wasn't he suppose to have a cameo in Rocky 4 was a commentator? It may have been for Rocky Balboa but I know he was suppose to cameo as a commentator for one of them

Yup! Even Stallone doesn't count it. Rocky went from brain damaged to the point of career end at the beggining of V to passing his medicals with flying colors when the board tries to withhold the boxing license from him in Rocky Balboa.

Rocky V gets too much hate! The equipment used to diagnose Rocky was outdated!

That was for Balboa. Not sure why they couldn't get the deal done but that would have been super cool to see him again. Hopefully they try one more time for this one.

Meh. The best parts of Rocky V were the flashbacks to Rocky IV. The rest was so damn boring and didn't have one ounce of the magic that literally ALL of the other Rocky films had. Well, I take that back. When Rocky is remembering Mick, those scenes were touching. But the rest of it was just so damn mediocre and the ending was so damn anticlimactic. It's definitely the Rocky film I've seen the least and watch the least. Usually I just go from IV to Balboa.

It's not even my least favorite. Rocky III is easily my least favorite.

Yea, I looked it up later.

It was said he was supposed to be a more humble and wiser Lang. That would have been great.

Oh fucking thank God, Ivan Drago is the best bad guy ever

The movie begins 10 years after the last film. , . Creed, now retired, is considered one of the greatest of all time. He comes out of retirement to fight Ivan Drago's son, who happens to be the worlds biggest MMA fighter.

Sylvester Stallone Confirms Ivan Drago in CREED Sequel

In a new Instagram post, Rocky creator Sylvester Stallone confirmed several things about MGM‘s in-development Creed II. For one, that he himself has written the full script, or at least what will serve as the basis for the script, after Ryan Coogler and Aaron Covington wrote the last one by themselves.

Second, he has solidified what many had assumed for a while, which is that Dolph Lundgren’s Ivan Drago, and probably his offspring, will be involved in a big bloody battle with Adonis Creed in the ring.

Drago Confirmed for Creed II as Stallone Finishes Script

Stallone has terrible penmanship. I can't read half this shit.

But the use of the term "offspring" makes me think that we may not be dealing with a son here. Maybe it's a daughter. Wouldn't that be some Romeo and Juliet shit?

I'm down for this. That makes it a lot more interesting for me.

Been a very long while since Lundgren had a high-profile role in a theatrical movie. (I'm not really counting Expendables.)

Isn't he one of the villains in the upcoming Aquaman movie?

Fuck Yeah!!!!

If you think Rocky 3 is the worst Rocky film, you might need to make an appointment with the neurologists from Rocky 5.
