Its admirable that they've transcended fear of death but perhaps they shouldn't seek it out for themselves and others.Everyone in here is mocking the Christians doing this, yet nobody will admit that, at a subconscious level, these Christians have achieved something they don't have.
They are willing to die for something they believe in. They have transcended, escaping the claws of the material world.
Well as someone who lives near a Spring Break hot spot there were lots of people I knew who were livid at the young people for their carelessness and the governor for not closing the beaches. Even millenials were like "look that ain't us, its Gen Z!"One of the articles says 71 people infected in one church, but how many idiots were infected and passing around the infection after going to Spring Break and worshiping the idol of debauchery?
I'm not trying to give a pass to the religious idiots going to Church and putting people's lives at risk, but there seems to be an overemphasis on the wrongs done by religious people as though the wrong-doing of a church, pastor or specific sect gives the justification to condemn and dismiss all religions and paint all religions and believers with the same brush. I also find it interesting that people are very quick to blame the bad things people do on religion, but never give recognition to the good things people do because of their faith.
But overall I think you are right, in general people seem more bothered when the motivation is religion instead of consumerism or hedonism.
