Crawford vs Spence 2 PBC PPV

Kind of an unconfirmed rumor still i think.

Even if true, I don't think he could do any worse even if he didn't have a trainer....& I like Derrick James.

I hope it's an unconfirmed rumor! Although Errol has not evolved with James, they have a winning formula (just did not work against a P4P great)

I'm also not sure that Errol has ever been right since the car accidents. I think RJJ is probably the worst stylistic choice for him; someone like Andre Rozier would be much better

In general I think trainers get too much credit when their fighter wins & too much blame for when they lose.

Sometimes people have to test the theories to see if they are true.

I just know unless Errol was injured or severally weight drained more so than any of his fights ever, he kind of has to do something drastically different if he wants to even just be competitive for a couple rounds.

Also have to consider the logistics & closed doors conversations.
James is the current "guru" trainer. Over the past few years he has other fighters that are almost in the same range as Spence. Its hard to split your time with 3-4 guys fighting for belts and million dollar purses.
Charlo's Canelo fight will be a huge payday for James. Anthony Joshua fights are going to be pretty big pay days.
Maybe the schedules don't line up anymore or there is just not enough time for a busy trainer to reinvent an old Errol Spence.
Maybe they finally talked and Errol didn't like the new game plan or lack there of.
Maybe James told him in private to hang them up and he didn't want to watch him get hurt against bigger better competition. Even if he doesn't fight Crawford. Boots a monster & in theory 154 means more powerful opponents.
I try not to judge a split unless the specific details for both sides are known.

Spence might just be the biggest fall from the top I’ve ever seen if he loses the same way again in December. From maybe the best p4p to a demolished punch drunk fighter making stupid choices.

Loser has the right to trigger the rematch clause (Spence)…. Crawford has the right to pick if it’s at 147 or 154. Even though a one sided first fight. They made 2 much money to pass on the rematch.

Errol got smoked, I'm not sure he should take this fight to be honest.
