Still though I've been watching the ufcs watered down content that I don't deem worthy of their asking price for years. It's more than a habit to me, it's my lifestyle.

But this is still worrying, if this is the direction the world is going towards, then we are fucked. It should concern us on a more serious level.

You can’t go for people who watch illegal content because well.. it’s not illegal. Imagine if someone streams a pirated movie to every tv that’s turned on in a store. Does that mean the people who stop and stand to watch the movie are criminals? It’s a stupid slippery slope. Therefore they can only really go for the uploaders or providers of the service.

If you go to the store knowing it's streaming and with the intent to watch like finding a stream is different than someone popping one up on you.

It's not petty. Streaming UFC or any sports for that matter was probably not even a secondary concern. PPVs Politicians were lobbied by the entertainment/production giants like NBC/Universal, Disney, Paramount, Warner Bros, etc. to do this considering there won't be anymore theaters in 24 months. If everyone is streaming from home in 2 years, they don't want pirate websites providing their shit for free.

From what I can read, it's only going after people who distribute pirated material.

As it should. I will admit i stream, but a lot of these "companies" are over selling their bandwidth which results in shitty laggy streams. So i say fuck em, be greedy, get shut down. Back in the day, there was some really good streams that were private and have very little members, but all it took was some bad apple to fuck them over and get shut down when they were barely breaking even.

Yea I don’t begrudge you doing that, and frankly it’s probably in the company’s best interests for *some* amount of content to sneak through. Basically what you (and really the company and the rest of us too) should want is for stealing it to be just inconvenient enough so that anyone who can afford it will buy it yet it’s still accessible in less affluent countries and communities (and to young people) so that it’s popularity can grow.
