Countering the spinning armbar from the bottom with a Kimura (a BJJ Tutorial)

Stephen Kesting has a similar technique from his half guard dvd

love the technique... I was able to hit it on higher belts when they thought I was leaving myself open to a counter ;)

and there is this random guy doing a similar technique

Yep, Kesting's and Rafa's approaches are both excellent (although different from mine in some regards).

i like your technique but you need a different cameraman.

Ha! These are generally shot by students during class. I could probably do the youtube stabilization technique on one or two of them if you think the video in question is particularly egregious.

no no, when you're in the shot it's ok, it's just that whenever they try to move around to a better position we get a lot of footage of the mats, with you 5 feet out of the shot.

in reality i'm just being a spoiled brat.

Yeah, I get it. I'm just saying, we've probably rolled for an hour beforehand, the students aren't necessarily thinking about how this is going to be ending up as part of an article (although by now they know there is a good chance it will), and they might not even be any good with a camera. Still, it's great to have the footage.

I enjoy you videos a lot, so thank you for taking the time to do them.

I have multiple types of camera stabilization software that works great. Mostly designed for gopro action shots, but work well on hand held footage too. If you ever need something stabilized, pm me. Id be happy to do it. Sorry, cant help with the out of frame stuff, lol!

That's awesome! Are you familiar with what Youtube does? I probably stabilize at least 2 or 3 videos every week using their software.

Yeah im pretty familiar with it and its pretty good for a free process. I have Mercalli and Prodrenalin by Prodad. They work great for shaky gopro footage and help out with color correction as well. Let me know if you want me to run some footage for you. BTW, what camera are you using?

Haha, it's whatever the students have. Generally, these videos are very candid, shot right after we roll for an hour (hence some of the shakiness), and by whatever smartphone the students have. I know one is a relatively new iPhone and one is an Android of some kind, but not much else.
