Could you just hide from the terminator?

Well it starts in 84.' Not too hard to hide for some years there. If by the mid-90s you have created a new identity and people only know you by the new name etc.. Would be hard for the terminator to find you. He would have to get lucky.
 
Computer logic and patience go a long way.
 
If the Terminator is even after you it’s because you are going to be important. By getting you to hide and never lead the resistance he could accomplish his objective without killing you

He would do what the T-1000 did. Mount a campaign using your picture. Go to your last known address in a police uniform. Try to have you charged with a crime to get wanted posters of you put up around America.

If you leave the country, go to the last known airport you were seen at, or last known bus station, whatever. Constant methodical patience might produce lead after lead for him to follow up on. Or maybe you’d get away? I’m not sure. But he would never stop looking. You would need plastic surgery paid for in cash plus lots of money to bounce from place to place.

You could run out of resources pretty quickly...
 
There is a cool bar by my place. Called tech noir i believe. I think it would be a perfect hiding spot.

The first terminator couldn't do all that.

And even if it could, it better be showing that pic in the right area of the right town.

I wonder if he had a self destruct mechanism for if he was arrested? I would think Skynet would program to hide all evidence

Yeah I haven’t seen the movie in a long time. Most of my memories of terminator come from T2.

If he can’t learn how to do all that then he would be pretty useless lol.

If I were him, as far as towns go, getting to all the grocery stores day after day with a picture should eventually turn over some stones/produce leads. But maybe not. I’m not sure how real people found other people in the 80s

Like a Predator self destruct, explosion gets ride of all evidence..?

Or like a computer, and just wipe all of the memory and shut down (die).

I'm guessing it would be something like Predator, wouldn't be a great idea to have Terminator wipe it's memory and just fake death..

Autopsy would be hilarious..
 
If t-1000 had to ask around to find John, then yes. You just have to be smart about it and go off the grid from everyone who has ever known you.
