Alot of people points at this fight when talking about Charles lack of heart, but i don't feel like it's a heart thing.

My question for the sherbro analysts: Was it the body shot that paralyzed him or was it just a delayed brain reaction to the punch to the dome?

Also another thing to consider, this fight was at 145, so that must have weaken him right? Just looking at the size difference here, and how big Charles looked vs Tony, he had no business fighting at 145 imo

Getting punched is weird. Sometimes you think you're okay but you're not.

Other times you get hit hard and should be more hurt but you actually do feel okay.

Only Charles knows how badly he was hurt but I'm not gonna be calling him a wimp.

Do Bronx's favorite wrestler is Ric Flair

And he's also a fan of Rolles Gracie

It might also be the combination of the liver shot right before the knockdown and Cub hitting him in the temple causing him to lose equilibrium

Looked like it hurt like a mother fucker, once it goes to your toes...its all over. Dont watch it in slow motion, it make things look wrong.
What you witnessed there was the brain losing connection with the nervous system.(something Dana wouldn't like to admit.)

you ever get hit with a liver shot? it sometimes feels like someone cut up your insides lol, shit hurts. take too many or a good enough one and you'll go to the fetal positon

Sometimes you get hit hard and instead of being knocked down or strait KO'd, you can be hit and seconds later suffer disorientation, intense pain (broken bones), double vision, etc. You can get hit by a hard punch and tear your eardrum, there's so many things that can go wrong when your being punched in the skull.

I think that's what that was, this happens alot in MMA. This particular situation was strange because Oliveira was animated and moving around, probably because he was dizzy, disorientated, and disappointed all in one.

He was toast from the body shot. Trying to keep a poker face, but nothing was functioning well. The headshot was an additional damager that just put him beyond his threshold. Joe Rogan pretty much explains it perfectly.

It's none of what anybody said above.
What really happened was, the livershot landed so clean and perfectly, but he managed to walk it off.
Then came the perfect hand to the chin which the legs shut off.
Like I've felt this at sparring once when we went real hard. the legs can literally turn off. then suddenly the combo of both led tot eh disapointment in the end.

It happened to me in a fight. A guy hit me with one of them ryu punches to the collarbone (he was taller than me)

At first I was ok but then im like "oh fuck i am NOT ok at all" and had to hold on to recover. If he would have hit me again,(Before i recovered) I woulda went down.

Na its clear Charles thought, "Damn that hurt. Oh fuck! I'm about to get hit again lets just pretend the last shot dropped me and call it a night".

I think that fight is a case of him almost going down from the liver shot and then a good follow up head shot simply caused an overload of physical distress.

I think there was a delay because the head shot wasn’t hard enough to cause a KO by itself, but the combination of damage was too overwhelming and his body just shut off.

he might not have been able to see right. i was boxing my older brother as a kid and he hit me so hard all i could see was white. i just held my hand out and turned away. i could hear everything and talk, but i couldnt see. if my brother was gonna keep fighting i would have flopped too, you have no choice really.

bad gif but i think the same happened to michael chandler when he lost to brooks. his head hits the mat and then he eats a very hard shot. He then just kind of backs off with his hands out.

after the fight chandler said "yeah idk what happened, im guessing i couldnt see right". I'll guess will hit him harder than i got hit because i could remember and speak, but i needed a couple min

You see that a lot when there is a broken bone in the face, maybe and orbital or cheek bone. Look how he instinctively covered his face as he went down.
